Not a true locker. It's a friction type device using spring pressure to push two halves apart between the spider gears to keep minimize the ability of them to turn thus minimizing speed difference between the two tires.

OUCH! That's a BIG mistake if it is $499 for the installation not including the cost of the PG. Now if it's $399 for the PG by it's self or $499 installed, that's a little different.

 

yes i spoke to the owner this morning and he told me that he understood that i knew the install was 499. you see he charged me the 499. and iforgot i had a PG in his shop that i paid for last year. so when i ask for a discount for the forum he said take off 100 i did,, just off the wrong place. you know when halfhymers kicks in it does not remember the other 1/2.
just so you know there are two companies that bought the PG from PG and make the same thing one sells for 1200.00 the other 2300.00 and you get a phantom grip with their company name on it so i think we have a good deal form phantom grip . jim

 

So is it $499 for the Phantom Grip with installation or $898 for the Phantom Grip with installation?

Holy crap $499 just for labor when they have the diff sitting on a bench in front of them. I dont see how they could possibly justify that. I think that pretty much knocks me out of the running.

 

This is what I sent them and got it done for about $400 total. Install is not a biggy see the pair of bricks added, should be able to do it easily and save the big money for shipping. Woody

wow, I thought for a minute I was reading this wrong...I can have the rear end removed and re-installed for less than $200...no way would I pay $400 for an install...lol...the $400 total + shipping both ways is reasonable...thanks for clearing that up....I have 2 cars now....lol...and that would break the bank...with everything else I have to do...

The best I can figure out it is $399 for the product, and an additional $499 for installation.

Tighed... maybe they could give you a bulk price to have 10 or so sent to you, and then you could charge a reasonable price to members to have them send you their differential for you to do the install.

I was not clear on the install price and was mistaken in the email to that individual. This is way to confusing. Although, no one has actually stepped up to any price, that one or the one before. They don't respond to me, just the forum, which is not my business, nor is installing. I spoke to my installer, (and so did you), so he made it clear to me, the price. The special is $499 installed here. They send their diff.
I believe we have squared that up from yesterday so if you want to respond to that guy's post you can or he can just email us, and I'll relay it. I have never had such issues with any other models. Whew...Hope this clears it up. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

I am currently in the process of ordering a Phanton Grip myself but because of the extra friction I want to get a higher than oem quality upgrade rear diff fluid.

Does anyone know if Red Line, Amsoil or any other performance after market company make an upgraded fluid.
