Default correct group price for phantom grip 1/28/10

This is it! the real, the correct with no more changes, the phantom grip installed into your differential by Phantom grip $499.00 + shipping of your differential to and from phantom grip.

if you want just the phantom grip to install it your self( or your mechanic) the price is $399.00 + shipping., the pg weights about 2 lbs

below is the e-mail I received from Phantom grip 1/28/10 ...

[quote]
I was not clear on the install price and was mistaken in the email to that individual. This is way to confusing. Although, no one has actually stepped up to any price, that one or the one before. They don't respond to me, just the forum, which is not my business, nor is installing. I spoke to my installer, (and so did you), so he made it clear to me, the price. The special is $499 installed here. They send their diff.
I believe we have squared that up from yesterday so if you want to respond to that guy's post you can or he can just email us, and I'll relay it. I have never had such issues with any other models. Whew...Hope this clears it up. janice

ok let me ask this question as i donr really have a mechanic that works on my car.
is it possible to get the pg installed properly by another mechanic for under 100$? or would it be smarter to just let them do the install and pay the shipping costs?

Having pioneered the PG install in my garage I can tell you that I dont think your gonna find a mechanic do the rear for $100. If you pull the rear and drop the pumpkin, your talking HOURS of time out and again putting it back in.

If you can do it with the pumpkin in the car, do it as its lots of effort to do it otherwise. Maybe set up a two night stay at Jims while it is done with by them, gotta be cheaper even including the wedding gift for his daughter. Ha Woody

I would assume, I hope, that detailed instructions will be included with the PG when purchased. I am confident, my mechanic and I can install it...but I may be changing rearends. If I go that route, then, I will ship the new pumpkin to PG and let them install it...$100 is cheap...

Professor Woody.
Looks like a fairly decent DIY mechanic could tackle this job. You think?
I've installed Lock Right Lockers in all of my Chevelles (4). This doesn't look to hard. What do ya think?????
Could it be done on the car???? (picture is a lock Right Locker)

I have not seen the instructions but i was told they have to machine the shaft, to get the factory roughness off of it and they also machine the spider gears to make the PG grab on both sides evenly..
under these circumstances i would let them do it. from and woody can conferm this if you send the center section with ring gear removed your shipping might fit in the USPS,,, one price if it, fits it ships. ,, but look at it this way if you send the pumpkin they disassemble install the PG and reassemble the unit, I am sure woody can give us a pictorial of removing and installing the pimpkin in to the car. jim

The $150-$175 you spend on shipping back and forth and installation is a pretty good insurance policy that it's installed correctly. Heck, most shops charger $80-$100 and hour and this is definitly gonna be more than a 1-hour job for someone that's never done it before.

Just my two cents but at $499 installed and $55 for me there and back, I don't think you can go wrong.

No difference, this assists the balance of power between the wheels and reduces the t/c light cause both pull together MORE, not totally, just more. Woody
