Do you need the 74MM MAF if you have a NW DCAI?

Two large tubes funneling into one small one, what's your guess?
I'd say it would be a plus even with one NW CAI.

180, my NW single CAI does not use the factory MAF housing, the MAF/IAT sensor fits into a welded on bung in the NW pipe ....
( This is first gen NW single CAI, I think the newer one has it's own housing for the MAF that does the 90 degree transition ....

We're talking about the sensor itself, not just the housing right? There is a sensor that goes with the 68mm TB, and a different sensor that goes with the 74mm TB, correct? Two different sensors..

Correct me if i'm wrong please.

The DCAI is the same way. Welded on piece for the MAF sensor

180 told me the price should be more like $150. So, I called them directly and offered $150 and they accepted

As far as I know, the MAF sensor is the same, it does NOT need to be changed with the 68 - 74 mm upgrade.

I told them the price was too high when they listed them but they did not listen. I told them of the parts they could list as Crossfire parts, I guess they sold out of the engine cover, #112 090 11 01 and the front nose piece, A112 010 04 67.

well, the MAF is a full 6mm wider opening, just like the TB. the intake manifold is already 74mm and so is the elbow. By replacing both, you'v just smoothened out the air flow. No step up and down between each components

So is there any benefit to switching the MAF?

I was speaking of the sensor itself, NOT the 68 mm plastic piece that holds it.
If you are retaining that plastic MAF part, of course upgrade to 74mm, but in the case of the NW CAI this does not apply.

there is if you you go with the larger MB filter housing. I have no dyno results to back this.

This does not apply to NW CAI. A NW comes with it's own low turbulance MAF elbow.

I currently am fabing my own custom CAI from a plumbing kit found on Ebay:
