Default Help: How to R&R SRT6 timing cover?

Can anyone provided instuctions on how to remove and replace an SRT6 timing cover? Once all the bolts are removed, the timing cover is held on by a MB sealant. Can this seal be broken without damage to block and timing cover?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

Tap it gently all around with a rubber mallet.

Gently wedge and tap a gasket scraper between them. You may have to do this in several locations before it breaks loose.

The shop manual has the engine removed from the car, cylinder heads off as well as the oil pan. Then you take off the timing cover. not a days job.

The timing cover can be removed with the heads still installed. The oil pan and valve covers need to be removed to access all of the bolts.
