Default CCCPR Salinas Intl. Raceway

I had a great time at the track on Saturday. I passed 2 Corvettes, 3 Subys, various other cars (don't have it all on camera .... GoPro didn't record the first two sessions) The Advan's did pretty good. The stick like R Compound when cold. Hot, they get slick, but always predictable. I got stuck behind a Porsche the first session and he never gave me a point by so when I caught him in the third session I knew what to expect. He turned out to be a great guy, he just plays by his own rules. He was blue flagged again and again but never pointed anyone by. No one passed me in any of the sessions which was a shock. I passed a ZR-1 but he obviously had a problem. You'll see him point me by then enter the pits where he caught fire and lost his car. 1000 miles. I have my opinion on what happened but I want to see if I can get the facts first. The video is complete and unedited so you can see how I messed up the hairpin again and again. I've got to fix that. Having used Pilot Sport Cups is my excuse and I'm sticking with it. It's 21 minutes long but I think it's worth the time to watch it.

Les,

Great video and well worth the 21 plus minutes . I can see you improve with every single video you post; very nice! Easy to see how you are the defending champ. The footage is awesome and the sound of your supercharger screaming is over the top.

About what speed are you hitting on the back straight? Whatever it is you can tell that your six is flying! Thank you for posting and keep them coming...

Stay safe...

Respectfully,

Nicely done Interesting how you got around that Boxter S with better brakes and torque, he a little top end on you but into and out of each corner you would reel him in a bit. Nice smooth driving, maybe too smooth, I don't think the back stepped out even once

Now if I could just get my Go-Pro vids loaded from this weekend YouTube wont accept my user name and password, been a while I guess ...

BTW how do you tame the wind noise with the Go-Pro? The sound quality on mine is just all wind sounds

I was quite a bit faster than the Porsche everywhere. It doesn't look like it because I follow the rules. Were not supposed to get too close, pass without a point by and only pass on the straights. I was being patient but in the first session I got stuck behind him for the last 4 or 5 laps of the session. You can hear the engine in the video so you can tell where I'm letting off so as to keep the distance. In the end I passed without a point by. bad bad bad

You can't hear the tires in the video but they were singing. I have the car well balanced now and usually it will do a 4 wheel drift unless I steer with the throttle (still learning how) which I believe the Wavetrac will help with. In the first heat I passed 2 Corvettes. I really wanted that on tape.

The GoPro seems to focus on the loudest sound. If I put the camera on the roof the only sound I get is the wind. So I started putting the camera on the hood and it works better.

The car was shifting to 4th at the end of the back straight so around 105. They put the chicane on the front straight to slow us down. Without it I reach 130. This was just for practice and fun. i push harder when it's a points race.
