Default Texas Mile on 28 MAY 2011

I reserved a spot for SAT the 28th of MAY. Does anyone want to meet up? Well, I'm going to run my tuned ECU, no nitrous, and street tires. I can run nitrous but it won't help my top speed. I'm planning on getting 155 Mph as promised by Chrysler. It cost me $260 for one day and I guess I need to buy tires still. Do you guys think I should run my drag radials? I think they may not last long out there at that speed. Here is my tire info, please let me know? BFGoodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radial 2

I wouldn't think you would want to run drag radials for a top speed contest. It's for top end, not the quickest times. Just my .02...

new high speed tires a must no dr.'s. also remember you have less than 8 seconds to get the slowed enough for a 90* turn at the end of the runway. might want to have new brakes and rotors as well!

yes you do or you will not pass tech. Get a fire extinguisher and zip tye it to the seatbelt when its buckled and pulled tight on the passenger side.

No open face helmets, they will yell at you. Get the right equipment, this is serious stuff. We have seen people wreck many times, more then just the flips. No need for a race suit, but you need a race jacket I believe, and jeans/no open shoes.

make sure there are no leaking fluids in the engine bay, or under the car. Make sure that your tires have the proper speed rating. (very important)

for the crossfire CHECK YOUR BRAKES AND ROTORS! The stock xf brakes suck! You do not have a lot of space to brake, so make sure they are tip top!

we have run there many times...

Ditto - I came close to smoking my brakes at the Texas Mile.... Good brakes are a must...

I ran with BFG PS2's and a semi-aggressive roll into the mile.

I removed the passenger side net on the console and attached the FE there - bit I saw guys running with the FE tied to the PS seat belt.

Ran with a full face shield helmet, eye protection and neck brace (old man)

Have fun and be safe.....

I got the G-force Snell M2005 Helmet for $130 and the fire retardant gloves for $45 from PitstopUSA.com. It all came yesterday and looked great!

I made all my passes in a short sleeve T-Shirt, sneakers, motocross helmet, Oakley sunglasses and my fire extinguisher mounted to the passenger side of the center console were the cargo net is - - on fairly new Michelin PS2 (factory size). I did run Sunoco 260 GT Plus (104 octane unleaded).

Have fun and be safe...
