Taking names and kicking butt!
Today I had an event in Ponce, P.R. Lot's of trash talking before the event, fun stuff, but in the end, the only car and driver that could back it up was ......... Velociabstract and his CROSSFIRE SRT-6! $60.00 of blue tape and no prisoners taken. OK, I'll come down off my cloud and give the details.
1:29.3 was my best lap which was good for 2nd place in my class, which is B. (1rst place was a 2006 EVO that is ungodly fast) Good enough for 2nd in the next higher class too! I gave a ride to the "pro driver/instructor" that was at the track to drive one of those Boxter Spyder super lightweight, more powerful, no roof, etc. etc. and he left mumbling about "Why didn't I know about Crossfires" to himself. I think the spyder is for sale.
Even the announcer threw gas on the fire by pointing out all the cars that were beaten by a "Chrysler" I passed a CTS-V, ZO6. A line of Vettes and a Porsche Turbo that pulled into the pits to avoid the embarrassment of being passed by a Crossfire. Yeah, I'm a bit giddy.
On a side note, my extra heat exchanger helped. On the street the IAT's are 20º over ambient. With the supercooler and stock heat exchanger in line, the track IAT's are seem to be lower. I need to study the datalog to be sure.

Congrats on your win! You sound like it's no biggie. lol. I miss Puerto Rico, as I was born and raised there. There is definitely no moving back for me though. So no SRT-6 competition coming anytime soon. Not like I have enough goodies to keep up!
Les, that's what i'm talking about,, that moves me ,,to beat a cts-v and a zo6 I bet they don't post the run on their forum,, you should go there and post it ,,,rub it in --rub it in ... great job,, jim
Thanks guys, it was a blast. I have to go through the videos and see what I have. The first heat was mostly wasted being stacked up behind slower cars (Porsche Turbo, Z06's, CTS-V etc.) In solo you have to wait to be pointed by and a group of them ignored the blue flag and instead returned to the pits. A couple of wasted laps. The second heat I went out first and didn't encounter any cars. The third heat ...... I can't remember for sure, I think that's when the red Z06 went down. The fourth heat was free and a blast but no video. The flag men had come in so no one to see and I got into racing with a few cars. Passing under braking etc. I quickly realized I wasn't set up to continue because of the lack of visibility. Now I understand the huge mirrors in race cars. So I backed off and followed a pro in a CRX for a few laps to see his line and where he was quicker. I pulled him easily at the top of 2nd and 3rd and could out brake him. Where he was real good was coming out of the corners. He could get hard on the gas much earlier than I could. I'm going to fix that asap.
That funny colored mirror has magic in it! What else do you have?

It used to be said that "nothing happens until something sells." I have always said it's the advertising that makes it sell.
Now we see how to make SRT-6 prices go up. If that's what we want. Your whipping some fine iron.

I copied this non official list of the overall times. For some reason not every car that ran appears on the list and the times are rounded up or down to the nearest 10th. The Porsche Turbo isn't there or the 2 Z06's that were holding us up. Humm. Oh look, faster than a GTR too!

Here's the video of the slowest heat but it's the most interesting to view. I had some trouble with the braking points as you will see. The track was dirty and slippery from lack of use.
That 94 Honda has a K20 engine swap, full cage, race tires and is fast. My best time was faster than his (Juan) but just barely.

Sorry, but as usual I couldn't help myself.

Kumho Ecsta XS 245/35/18 on the front at 41 lbs. hot and Hankook Ventus RS-3 285/35/18 at 38 lbs. hot. They are predicable and have good grip.
As you can tell from my braking miss calculation and super late turn in bone head move, that the car is balanced with a slight tendency on the loose side. I don't have the tires dialed all the way in but dialing in the driver will give better results than playing with the tires at this point.
I have the video of my fastest lap and I'll post it up later. I also found a video from another car that has a few seconds of mine in it. I'll post it up in a minute.
Here it is, this is the same heat that I posted from a Honda.
