Might be expensive for a weekend rental, though. I have to believe that's why they scheduled it for a Thursday (lower traffic).
Steve, I am leaning towards being a corner-hoe at Atlanta Motorsports Park for the HPDE. You get the experience, $$$ credit and you get to watch other people break things for a change.
The airstrip looks fun, but it's a Z-fest. Mainly Japanese cars. While it would be fun to beat a lot of them, I would miss not having any Euro comradery. I could wear my NISMO work shirt and **** them off though, LOL.

And Carville and I were thinking of a meet up at Steele sometime on a friday/saturday night, a night before a autocross event and then autocross the next day. Any of you guys be intrested?
Hmmm... pure speculation here... but I wonder how fast a modded out SRT-6 could go in a 1/2 mile...
I forget who it was but they posted 168 mph Texas mile. And our cars routinely get high teens (116 for me) in the quarter mile...
Obviously, it won't be 1/2 way in the middle of those numbers... but 140 would be a nice guess... 145 tops maybe?!?

So, anywhere between 132-136 for most of us on calm conditions would be a good estimate. If you're heavily modded and the wind is favorable, low 140's. Which is smoking.
I must be on an ignore list or something. 139.23 with a 18 knot headwind on the 24th of march (2012) . And it was Brian Brave that ran the Texas mile and went 169.xx if memory serves me correctly.

prolly wont get to steele until the fall. getting to hot and i have some new secret mods going on which will req some intense tuning. (can you say stacked!!
im working with some great talent on the euro cars that havent had much interaction with the s/c 3.2 and they want to see what the market is.
Can you really run a street car without a cage ?? I had considered going to NC for the mile and found a 125 limit unless you get a cage.
WOuld like to consider doing this, does anyone have any cost info?
