I know I haven't posted in forever! Cuz I started school and turned 21 so I've been needless to say... but anyways... back to the story...

I was on my way to Redline... at common Tuner meet up place in Michigan sorta were the dream cruise takes place in Michigan... near Woodward... I have a modified Geo Storm... and by modified I mean my friend has two 7's and he wanted to learn body work on something crappy first! But this thing looks pretty damn nice for a geo... anyways... and a few mods on a Ford Focus... two rather street looking cars but nothing to brag about in performance... We are cruising down woodward when I see a black Xfire at the gas station with some heavy tint on the windows and I knew it was Adam one of the guys that Autocrossed here in Michigan with Landho and I ... I wing it back around and we meet up with him and his buddy who's on a "what appeared to be" a 600cc bike of some sort... it was new and fast... so Adam wants to test my ECU out... he's got a stock Xfire manual... we get to the line at the line and I brake torque to about 2400 - 2600 RPM... Adam is revving probably around the same but a bit more... We take off and right away I new the ECU + filter car was gonna win ... I pulled away at 60 by nearly a entire car length... we tested this about 3 - 4 times at the lights every time the same outcome... I did less brake dropping a few times... but no matter the ECU desimated out there...

Then the fun happens... the bike pulls up next to us on the left... and this Volvo ... we are like ... a VOLVO... what are you thinking... well I look over at him and he hits the gas and talk about a huge BOV... I had my music pretty dang loud and his BOV rattled my car! lol ... but we all took off on green... I lost only to the Bike of course ... meanwhile the Focus & Geo team behind us has attracted a bit of attention also and a Taurus joins their battle! so right now we have all 4 lanes of Woodward popping gears... never over 60... but when that light hits green we were launching all out! ... so are doing this down quite a few mile roads... till a El Comino ... Dont ask me how to spell it im not a huge fan of the car... well anyways the guy pulls up next to me noticing im winning and the bike is sitting next to the El now too... well the El reaches down in his car for a bit... im guessing NOS... or to open his exhaust more... but no matter what... we were cruising at about 30... and he gives me and the bike a 3 - 2 - 1 ... and we go... and lets just say... that El gave the bike a run for his money lol... it was nuts....

Moral of the story... ECU + Filter = Desimation of Manual Xfire... and the autostick DOES feel faster ... and I think people can notice it more after the ECU... its a huge advantage to be in a perma gear without having to shift... but I know people won't believe it...

Second moral of the story... Any of you Michiganders wanta have fun... head down Woodward on Friday nights lots of cool stuff to do!

 

BobaFettm, do you take your x-fire to redline,? I haven't been in a while, i'll be going once I take delivery of mine.. I live in rochester too.. livernois and avon, went to RHS. I'll keep an eye out for you.
