Default mopar backed drifter

I found this on the autoweek site, but can't find any specs. mopar is running a viper in drift racing now, it's nice to see a crossfire get factory backed racing. even if it's just drifting, at least is a start.

It's a 400hp SRT-6. It has upgraded brakes and suspension (can't find the specs, though), the windshield has been chopped and the car has been given a one-off body kit. I haven't heard exact details on what was done to achieve 400hp from the AMG motor, but I know DC spent some time working on it.

I wonder if the fact that the drift car is equipped with the 6-speed is any kind of proof of its ability to hold more power...

I believe the AMG engine produces over 400hp to get 325 at the rear wheels .

I thought the power rating on the SRT-6 was at the crank putting power at the rear wheels around 265hp. With 400bhp you'd be looking at around 320whp - figuring a 20% drivetrain loss.

I could be wrong on that, though.

It is my understanding that RENNTECH did the engine mods. I'm not sure if the car came out of the DC "Skunkwerks" or was built by an outside source.

Not a bad car if you're into drifting... seems like a silly sport to me... Almost as bad as NASCAR driving around in a circle, but burning through a set of tires on purpose...

Todays Public Service Announcement...
A sportscar is a terrible thing to waste !!!

HDDP, do you just go from thread to head to hate on things?

Drifting is kind of silly...but one thing to keep in mind is that this particular car is probably only a few degress of camber away from one hell of a road car.
