I'm racing next week (Saturday) in French Lick in a red 335i, so hit me up if you see me. I'll be keeping my eye open for Crossfire's as usual and reporting back with photos from the event.

Damn truck driver. I thought you were ready for this. I am still trying to get the car done for a few miles of testing and tuning. Taking Friday off so I can rent a car trailer. My enclosed trailer needs brakes and I don't have the time to fix them and the car. You can still come up and watch Steve.

What are you having done to the car? Do you plan on running nitrous? This will be the first time I've run at a near sea-level DA, so I'm tempted to get greedy and run an E60 ethanol file and shoot for the stars. I might end up needing AAA to get the car home, but it will be fun nonetheless.

By the way, Steve said it would be easy to identify you by you being uglier than him. I really don't think there is such a person on the planet, so I'll look for the guy with a pistol, badge, CDL, and short temper. haha

 

Well, I hung the badge up, not the gun, still have the CDL, and the short temper. Short fat guy getting gray hair if it isn't falling out, a mustache that is white now. Getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative. Politics aged my ***. No nitrous. Still trying to run a stock class in NHRA. So, I have to pass tech and all. Just finished up the 3:46 gear change. Trying to get it learning and liking it's new gearing.

 

Look for this guy in a XF.....lol. No uniform though...

See you there. I may drive it down. Was going to rent a trailer, bring drag radials, tools, etc etc....but I may just wing it, and drive down take my chances. That plan has worked so far.

 

I'm doing the same. I'm running street tires even though I have a nice set of drag radials in the garage. I like to keep it simple for these events. By the way, I borrowed a canopy from Steve, so just bring a chair and you're welcome to share the shade with us. I like to let my car cool down in-between runs.

 

Will do. I may have a son or two coming. If they do, we will bring one as well...

 

Doc, did I read it right that you said you had driven 3,000,000 miles on the truck?? I happened to think how many hours that would have taken to accumulate, so I wanted to get clarification, thank you , Woody

I will be loading up soon.... Probably won't get there in to time to do the early check in. Son wanted to come and he doesn't get off work until 5 ET. So probably be in French Lick around 9 pm. I'm staying at the Best Western. Don't ask, not where I wanted to be....lol.

 

Thats correct woody. Over 2,000,000 miles myself. Has taken 25+ yrs of steady trucking

 

yes sir.... 43 yrs in and around the trucking business... My police work was on top of that. Good thing I am a 4 hrs sleeper....lol. I am finally slowing down. No more patrol cars, and mostly local runs now sleeping in our own bed. But, now then we get an over nighter. I run about 4-600 miles a day, 5 days a week now. Not like the old days.

 

Half mile event done. Disappointing day. But got to meet Anthony and his wife. That was the only highlight of the trip. Well, spending time with my son as well was terrific. He and I went to the local bar and I drowned my sorrels. Two beers worth. I wasn't that sorry. You can read about in the 3:46 gear thread....

 

It was great meeting up with Doc and Casey this weekend. I really wish more of you guys could come to these events. Anyway, Doc was really killing the big dogs from a dig.
