Just moved to Fort Worth from Stillwater, OK and had a tough time finding an apartment with a garage for my white XF. Hope to see you all out and about!

Now you are in the area, come join us at the Texas Motor Speedway on 7th May. If not ,and you have time, come meet and see other Crossfires at the Motel 6, close to the Speedway, we will be having Pool parties on the Friday & Saturday night about 7.00 pm. I know moving house is a hastle, BUT take a rest, enjoy yourself, join us. You will be glad you did.

Texas XFires

My wife and I are on a quick get away and we have spent a few days in San Antonio around the riverwalk. I'm renting a car tomorrow and we are heading off to see some other sights. I was thinking of heading up to Austin or the Hill Country . Any recommendations? We havent booked a room for tomorrow night and I know heading NW is probably a bad idea given the fires.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

This is probably the wrong thread for your request to get noticed by Texans living in the Austin/SA region. Perhaps PM some of the CTC members in this thread:

There are some great BBQ joints around Austin including Salt Lick (just south of Austin), great roads to drive between the two cities and of course 6th Street in Austin if you're looking for some fun evening music entertainment.

I don't think that was me, but I have been getting lost a lot lately! I usually stay in FW.

Thanks for the invite & warm welcomes. I'll try to make it out, but weekends are my busiest time at work. I hope to make it though - it sounds like so much fun & I'd love to meet you all! By the way, does anyone know of a great XF mechanic in the area? Mine needs serviced this week.

I saw a pretty white Crossfire at Lowes today in Flower Mound when I came out of the store. It was parked right across from me. I decided to hang out for a few minutes and see if the owen showed up. A very nice lady came out and we talked about our cars for a while. she really loves her car and had a few of the normal issues which I discussed with her. I invited her to the forum and to the laps for charity event. she said she would join the forum and maybe the laps for charity. keep a look out for a new member with a white Crossfire.

Still no mechanic recommendations? Come in guys, there has to be a good one somewhere in the DFW area. I don't want to take my baby to just any Joe Schmoe.

the best and most honest place I know is Krause Automotive in Lewisville. This is where my car was when we did the programing for my V8 swap. Robert actually gave me a stall to use for almost a month while we figured out the electronic challenges of the engine conversion. I got to be a fly on the wall and see how they did business. Want to know what they say after you leave with your repaired car? They brag about how much they saved the customer! They have all the same diagnostic equipment as a MB dealer and can do extended warranty repairs so that you don't have to go to a clueless dealer (stealer)

Wendy, Passport Motors in Plano has done a few repairs for me. But they would be a long drive for you.

Thank you SO very much guys. You're right, Plano is a bit far for me. I called & made an appointment with Krause for Thursday. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought I was going to have to take it to Kwik CAr or the stearlership. I owe you one!

This was probably me! I take 35W on my commute everyday.

I've been seeing another white XF in the Fossil Creek area. Very clean & well kept! Is this anyone on the forum or should I invite them next time I see them?

Today at about noon on my way to DFW Airport I saw a white coupe parked on the shoulder of westbound LBJ just west of I-35. I couldn't tell if anyone was sitting in the car. I would have stopped to assist if I didn't have a flight to catch.

Saw a grey coupe at Northwest Highway & Inwood Rd. at about 4:15pm today. She threw a cigarette out the window while waiting on the light.
