Betty meets Gustav - she was not impressed
One always to seek out adventure, I decided to drive Betty (206 Limited Coupe) to Louisiana this last weekend, right into a hurricane.
As the wind was blowing down limbs from my trees at my Louisiana house; Betty, the 68 Cougar XR7 and the MR2 were safely huddled together.
Gustav decided that I had one too many trees in my back yard and down one went with a sound that was not something you want to hear everyday. Luckily his aim was not good and the garage and the cars remained safe. The swing set, however, had a different fate. May it rest in peace (or pieces).
Guess he did not know not to mess with southern girls, lol.
After 3 days of horrid wind, torrential rain, and no electricity, I decided to bring Betty back to Dallas. With Sophie my co-pilot (my Italian Greyhound) 350 miles of rain later we arrived to the dryness of Dallas in tack. I, after all , had to be back for the Road Rally this weekend!!
The DFW XFire group knows how I complain about having a black car. Well at this moment she is "hurricane road film gray". She performed like a dream, bringing me past all the rain and the tornado warnings.
Now I have to see how many baths she needs before she is black again.
Continue to lift up those that were not as blessed as me in Louisiana and Mississippi in your prayers.
And once again I have realized that God is in control.

Glad you are back safe! You should bring Sophie to a DFWXfires meet. Or at least post a photo of her in the pets thread. Our Delilah and Sophie would have a blast together! See ya Saturday at the rally!
