Talking Ctc March Gtg

CTC members and any other XF owners that want to hook up:
Lets get a spot picked for March 8th, anyone have an idea they want to bring up? Our club date is the second Sunday of the month but one idea already out is for the last Sunday of the month. Here are some ideas to play with..

Also a note for all members, Jerad aka 007_MI6 (and Mrs_007_MI6) joined the CTC on the last GTG. WELCOME to the CTC Jerad!

Yall speak up !!!!!!!

We could take a round about run to Driftwood and pig out at the Salt Lick.

We could go North to Salado or Temple and try to hook up with some cars from the North part of Gods country.

We could go the back way to Marble Falls, nice ride.

Lets........ geter done.........

Paul

This is from Kevin,
Anyone up for going to the Texas Mile in March? It might be fun to see what our cars can do.

Next events are March 27-29 in Goliad, That would be the last weekend (5th Sunday) of the month.
Anyone want to see what your car will do on the track?

Truthfully, I can tear up my car here in Mountain Home, and don't have so far to walk. I had a good time this past weekend but 400 miles was a little bit much. I'd prefer a nice lunch somewhere and a good country roundabout thru the hills. Stop for a brief respite and small talk before heading out. I've done 2 overnighters by my own choice, but if these keep getting longer, it may be the rule rather than the exception.
Jared, you planned a nice get-to-gether it was fun, nice meeting you wife. Do you and she split the driving?
See y'all next pit stop.

John I take it your vote is not to go to Goliad, it is a long run and by the way if that is where we go I will not take my car to a track either.

I threw a few ideas out do you have any?

CTC members, do yall have any ideas?

Temple is good and maybe some of the DFW club would like to meet up. We can keep it on the 2nd Sunday. I'll be flying solo again. If John needs a rest, he could stay at the FT Hood Army Base. There are a few Crossfire owners on this Forum from that area.

All me, all the time, all the way. I've let her drive it, but if I am in the car I much prefer to be driving.

I would have to put Goliad at the bottom of my list too. Salt Lick or Temple sounds nice. I know the wife really wants to do a more cruising oriented GTG. Spend a lot more time cruising rather than talking. I am all for that, I would love a good cruise with the xfires on some nice hill country roads.

Talking is what we call socializing along with showing our cars, having fun and making friends. Our journey is to our socializing destination.

No argument. But who doesn't enjoy a nice cruise on a curvy country road before, after or between the socializing?

Ditto Jared, especially in a group. A 200 mile solo drive is not as much fun.

Come on honey, tell them the truth- you have only ALLOWED me to take the car solo ONCE and the other 2 times were the 1 mile from the car wash and might I recall you pitched a fit the whole way! But that's okay- spring driving is coming up and my fortune says that travel is in my future so I feel that changing soon!

As far as the G2G, I know I am really looking forward to hanging out with "the women folk" and kindly request you guys keep us in mind when planning- so you can drop us off and get outta ya'll hair and shop while ya'll talk shop. Salt Lick and Salado really spark my interest.

My wife gets to shop the other 29 or so days during the month but I guess if she is going to do 30 or so then I'll fly solo.

I will be there no matter where we go. I thought a cruise to the Salt Lick sounded nice. Luckenbach sounds nice as well. Just one problem...Where is everyone?

We have to make a final decision so we can get a list going. If we do Temple that is a mid point, if DWF would like to join and Houston.

I agree but after 5 days nobody from north of Austin has spoken up so I guess we need to go ahead and set up our GTG.

I agree with John P on this one. For him and others the longer trips take their toll. My personal opinion is the shorter driving and longer lunches / BS periods work better.
