Default Ctc August Gtg

A question to our members. Some of our members may be attending the South Padre (SPI) Island GTG over the weekend of 8th and 9th. This is on the 2nd Sunday of the month, our normal GTG day. Should we change our CTC GTG for August to the 3rd Sunday of the month or should we all just go to SPI for that GTG and cancel our regular GTG? Who plans on going to SPI? I'm thinking about it.

Bill (maybe it depends on what the CTC majority wants to do)

Bill,

It sounds great going to South Padre Island, just is an aweful long drive from Dallas for me. Pending what's going on at work I will maybe drive down there. Will let you know when it gets closer.

I would really like to do the SPI trip, but will have to wait and see also. My plans these days are on a day to day basis...

A correction to my first post, are we all in for our GTG in August on the 2nd Sunday or do we want to change it to the third Sunday so that anyone can go to SPI without missing our regular GTG.

Either one works for me, as I will not be attending the SPI meet. I grew up down there and don't feel like visiting.

I am in for our GTG as long as it is not down to SPI.

I have a car show on the 8th.... and I don't know if I would make a long run the week before the show (that's prep weekend)... but I always try to keep an open mind.

So our GTG for August will be held Sunday the 16th. That will make the weekend of the 8th and 9th clear for those members who want to attend the SPI GTG. Now all that is left to decide is the where to go on the 16th.

Bill,
I'm real busy now at work and wont make it down south to the GTG this time. I may have a few hours to get away for the Dallas meet. With the opening of the motel coming in September, that month wont look good either (but... hey... you all coming up here ). The next CTC GTG will probably be in October for me

Sorry guys, I have not paid much attention to the GTG page, I thought the GTG was to SPI on the 9th while I was out of town, I had plans to do some scuba diving on the 16th in north Texas but maybe I can talk the guys to come down here and dive the 15th. Sooo...

Well with temps still going to be over a hundred how about we just do another "Meet 'n' Eat". Maybe in Gruene or Wimberley or maybe back out to one of the places out at the Pond called Travis (Lake Travis, it doesn't really look like a lake anymore it's in very SAD condition) and not run far just chill out and tell some lies....AAhhh make that stories. Just a thought..

1) I'm in.
2) I like the idea of a short cruise to a nice place for lunch. It is still a long cruise for me.
Wimberely or Gruene sound like good ideas. Some back roads to the restaurant, a good meal and then some chatting. I only know of the places that we have eaten at, but I really liked both places. Oh well, I'm babbling. Back to work.

Sounds good to me, but lets go to a spot where the cars don't have to get dusty.

Well FP did invite us to Woodward

The place on 12 just south of Wimberley has good parking and two places to eat, I liked both restaurants.
I did forget that some of the parking in Gruene is bad for my cars complexion!

I'm in for the 16th. I only ate at the one place on 12 with the buffet upstairs but was a nice set up.
Possibility of going in the Devil's Backbone Tavern after lunch for those never having been inside. Maybe park up the road a little at Reilly's to evade the duts. :)
