Where is CTC?
This is NOT a solicitation for a takeover, nor is it a recommendation to disband. The past year has been less than a jolly good group of merrymakers, more so a individuals throwing out ideas for GTGs and getting stepped on by people with NO ideas. KRIS was the last one to ramrod a picnic GTG and it turned out very well, however several other suggestions that followed received no support. Without going into details here, I suggest that we the members of CTC, meet on the 2nd Sunday of January, the original meeting day, and discuss the future of the CTC.
Our leader can pick a time and place, and those that show up can voice their opinions. Those that don't, can go their own way. Either there will be a viable group, or non at all. MY OPINION

Hey John, I don't know if I am still on the list but I'm in. I don't know how many watch the forum this time of the year so maybe we should PM or send out some email's to let everyone know what we are trying to do and see what their ideas are. I'll be the first to make a suggestion,
How about we meet at the Gristmill River Restaurant 1-8-12 at 11:00am have some lunch, catch up and talk about the CTC then we could take a short run out river Road to Blanco where we could stop for a drink, chat for a minute and all head home, just a quick thought.

Paul, good to hear from you, glad you're still around. Your date is great, Gristmill is fine with me, but I don't understand River Road to BLANCO? I was in BLANCO 2 weeks ago and ate at the restaurant where we discussed the moulded tin ceiling. It is frou-frou. The bar on the square is closed and so is the BBQ place. I don't now of any other establishments there.
I thought River Road ran north to Canyon Lake?? I'm for anything to get us bac on track. I don't now if Bill will be offended or not, but if he wants to be Number 1, he has to perk up. I wouldn't know where to start sending emails

Paul I pulled out a county map and BLANCO becomes clear. Were you thinking of taking 32 ? Wimberly is not too far off the beaten trail either. 32 is DEVIL"S BACKBONE no? We never did go inside the Devil's Backbone bar did we as a group?
Just thoughts.

As I said before, the CTC is the member's club (11) not just one or two members. There are a few who want to join and waiting for a GTG. Participation is greatly appreciated. At least some of us has gone to coffee and rides. I went with Jon to see Corky about Turbo R&D for Crossfires. Corky looked at my car for space to install and took a ride in Jon's car.

Back to the original suggestion by PaulW, I vote yes for the Grist Mill and RR. A libation and potty stop is negotiable. I will try to find out if there are any businesses still open in Blanco

" I wouldn't know where to start sending emails" John, all the CTC members have a red CTC by their ID in the Official Texas members list, click on their ID and their profile comes up where you can send a PM or e-mail address if allowed. I hope this helps.

This suggestion was made by Paul W, and I second it. Any objections? If not, the suggestion stands. Further discussions can be made at he GTG!

The following post was made by Bill F 9-15-07, and pretty well states the purpose of the CTC. I see no reason to change it, just to clarify it for prospective new members, AND for those that just want to join in the fun!

Central Texas Crossfires (CTC) New Members Welcomed - 09-15-2007 , 06:08 PM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Central Texas Crossfires club is all about socializing, showing off our Crossfires, having fun and making friends. New members who will participate in our get togethers (GTG) are always welcomed. Socializing, is setting aside the time to visit with the friends that were made through the club. Showing our cars to the public, is to entertain them as they don't normally see Crossfires in large numbers. Having fun and making friends along the way while doing this. What is the purpose of being part of any club if you are not enjoying the company of others and not having fun?
To become a member you must attend a GTG and let us know you would like to be a member. There is no requirement to attend a certain number of GTGs, however, missing five GTGs in a row will disqualify you as a member. GTGs are held at a posted venue, usually the 2nd Sunday of each month. It's understandable not every member can attend every GTG. There are a few that do attend most of the GTGs because they enjoy their Crossfires and friends. There are no dues, just giving up a few hours of your time, a meal, some gas and a few miles per month. Yes, we all have things to do that are important in our lives, maybe this should be one of them. Only one day out of every month for just a few hours do we have the opportunity to get together with our cars and friends that were made through this club having at least this one thing in common (Crossfire).
As there are no club officers, all members have a say in where and when the next GTG will be. Any member can plan a GTG and start a participation list. If there is more than one venue suggested, the venue will be decided by a vote of the membership. Plan a venue that does not involve get our cars dirty and not late in the afternoon.
If you live in the Central Texas area and would like to join, let me or one of the other members know you are interested. You can send us a private message or post to this site.
You do not have to be a member to participate in a CTC GTG, all Crossfire owners are welcomed.

Paul may I suggest that a new thread be started for the GTG as this thread is, Where is CTC.
It might get more attention for the GTG. I look forward to seeing you and Reeca. I'm also looking forward to seeing other CTC members, hopefully some who haven't been to a GTG in awhile will participate. I also look for to meeting those Crossfire owners that have shown interest in a GTG. Thank you for organizing this GTG.
