We will meet in New Braunfels at the Pit Stop Mart at the South East corner of I35 and 46 on Sunday 2-12-12 at 10:00am and take the back roads to Luling and eat at Blakes Cafe, after eating we will run down to Palmetto State Park, take some pictures and drive through the Park before leaving for home.
(Man, I cant be here for this GTG and maybe I should have saved the idea for a later date because I hate to miss it!).
This link will show a run from the Pit Stop Mart at the South East corner of I35 and 46 in New Braunfels to 621 East Davis St in Luling (back roads of course) where we would eat at Blakes Cafe (great food and some Sunday afternoons Hot Rod groups show up to show off their cars) and then run down to Palmetto State park, do a drive through, take some pictures and head home.
I will keep the list up to date until I leave on 2-2-12.
Yall have fun

PaulW started this thread so that we can socialize, show our cars, have fun and make friends. This is what it is all about. In the past few months the CTC wasn't doing much. Recently CTC members and non-members have been inquiring about a GTG. Presently there hasn't been much activity in people signing up. What is your excuse this time? Let's get the ball rolling and just do it. By-the-way there is a thread on San Antonio Coffee and Cars by tburris, more participation is appreciated.

Why is it I so often feel like I'm being lectured to when I review posts on this forum? I don't need "an excuse" to miss a GTG. I (we) have a life. We have other things that we do in addition to the GTG's. Yes, we miss quite a few. We also miss quite a few of the scheduled RV rallies from our RV chapter as well as meetings and shows from our local car club. Funny though- they don't ask for "an excuse" nor do they ask for a hall pass or a note from mom. They just welcome us when we are able to attend.
Feb 12th might work for us but I'm not sure we'll be welcomed by all- some, yes but not all.
We have varied interests and do our best to enjoy them all.
Ok, I'm done with my rant. No, I won't commit to attending... we shall see.

Hey Skip, I'm sorry you feel you are being lectured to, I dont think that is the intent. Of course we all have other interests and obligations and can't make them all work, sometimes we even just want some down time. I don't think anyone has to have an excuse or give a reason about not making a GTG but if someone reads the post there is nothing wrong with a quick "sorry we can't make this one", it let's the group know at least you saw it.
Please understand There are good reasons for the request to sign up,
A - where would we like to go and do what, does anyone have a suggestion
B - the number of cars coming makes a big difference in the route we take (so we can stay together, you can't go through town with 10-15 cars and stay together ) and if there is a large group we may need restaurant reservations and yes we have had over 30 people and without knowing in advance it would have been an issue.
What do I think... Well Commit or don't that is everyone's choice but when you don't it makes it hard on the person planing the GTG and I don't think that is really very nice.
Please keep in mind this is just my opinion, not the CTC's

I don't think any names were mentioned as it applied to all. On the plus side, at least there was response. Now if we would only get a few more on the positive. The reason for GTGs is about socializing, showing our cars, having fun and making friends, that is what it is all about and nothing else.no other benefit. If not, then why have GTGs? Thanks Paul for again stepping up and organizing a GTG for all of us. The CTC is not one person with a Crossfire, that is why it is called the Central Texas Crossfires. Personally I don't feel guilty about wanting to get a good turnout, but would if I didn't attend, but that just me. I would hope that everyone would like to attend even though not all will.

Paul, read the posting just above mine: it is specifically requesting "an excuse." Not the first time I've been a bit offended by that type of sacrasm, and I believe there have been a few others who decided to opt out of GTG's because of that "tone of voice."
I will still attend when I can and when I am interested, but I just feel that negative postings are not beneficial.
