I don't really know the North Houston area, I know we met at a McDonalds last time just off the 290, but don't know exactly where it was. We were to be meeting at 11.00am at Murphys, and to give the San Antonio guys a bit of leeway say 11.00am to Noon at Murphys. We can meet somewhere and convoy to get there for that time, where to meet ?????? Any suggestions ???

 

Why don't we meet at 290 and hiway 6? Any other ideas ok too. How long will it take us to get there? What time to meet?

 

Dave, its about a 100 mile run, will take about 1 3/4 hours. What if we meet in the Parking lot of the Texas Roadhouse on the left at the Junction of Highway 6 and the 290 at 9.00am on Saturday10th.For anyone else who wants to join us for our Convoy, the Texas Roadhouse is just south of the 290 at the Highway 6 turn off

 

Damn, it's a go again. I thought there was no interest. Still no one else has chimed in from the CTC area other than FTroopchief and myself. I was hoping to hear from Ron, Paul, John (Xalidin), Tburris and others.

I'll depart the HEB in Schertz off FM 3009 for San Marcos at 9:30. Anyone who would like to meet up in San Marcos at the Dairy Queen off TX-80 on the right, we should becoming through there around 10:15 in route to Winchester.

Route I'm taking:

Bear Right on TX-80
Turn Left on TX-21
Turn Right on STATE HIGHWAY 71
Continue on TX-21 E
Continue on TX-71 E
Take ramp toward TX-95 S/TX-230-LOOP/SMITHVILLE/FLATONIA
Turn Left on TX-95
Continue on FM-153

 

Last two times we met at the McDonalds on 290 and the 2nd Hempstead exit. It's easy on easy off and there's a fueling station next door.

10am should do it as I beleve it's an hour to Murphy's from there. As we're in Crossfires, we could cut that time down to 20 minutes.

 

I'm O.K. with that meeting place. 10.00am it is. O.K. with you dtinker??

There are several forum members in the San Antonio area and Houston area that have shown recent activity on the forum and have not responded. Come meet some other Crossfire owners and have a good steak at Murphy's. Those in the DFW area are welcomed also. It would also be nice if other CTC members and Houston members would join in as well. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Thanks Beep for getting this together.

 

Hi all sorry have not been on here in awhile, can make it this weekend will be in Bastrop for the Vetrans day car show. But will probably be down for coffee and rides. Let me know if anything else comes up and we will try to make the next road trip or GTG

 

Well, I don't know about you but I enjoyed every bit of that.

Navi took us (Houston) on some of the crazyest roads I've seen in Texas (what was up with that over/under bridge thingy in the gulch?).
The Texas-sized steaks were their usual awesome, and the drive to Welch Park on Lake Somerville was nice and curvy.
The weather couldn't have been better.

I would like to say thanks to the gang that made this newly minted Texan feel right at home. I intend to hit that steak house again sometime.
