July 13, San Antonio Cars & Rides
After Murphy's this Saturday, plan on attending the Cars & Rides at the Rim (by Lowe's) from 8 am to 10, next Saturday!! Does it get any better than this?
Sorry Sandy, it isn't Cars & Coffee at the Rim. It is "Saturday Morning Cruise-in." Don't want to offend (

Why do we like to drive around and show our cars?
It blesses those who see our cars together! This is our public service! We do it for others!

Regarding an after dinner drive: There really aren't many 'twisties' in the area. Nothing like the Leakey area. There is that park road from Buescher State Park to Bastrop. But, it is a Park Road and therefore low speed limit.
Your right about showing our cars. As far as a route with twisties, I thought you already had a plan according to your post in the Murphy's thread:
Ater we eat, we can drive some of the twisties in the area, and some (see crossfireconv08's posts) are spending the night in La Grange for more driving and fellowship the next day.
I'm not aware of any in the area, the map of roads there looks fairly straight. That is what got me wondering that you knew something about the area.
Looking at the map of the area, Buescher State Park is about 12 miles away and looks to have twisties and runs into Bastrop Park. If there is no plan to do twisties, I guess you'll have to come up with the route as we can't just wonder around not knowing where we are going. It is your GTG, so it is your call.

Re: After dinner drive
I did not have a route in mind, nor do I have a route in mind. We can talk while we're eating, and as a last resort drive that route between Buescher and Bastrop. Those who have eaten here before may have other ideas. Now, I'm glad we're eating at 4! (haha)
We'll eat our steaks and then 'wing it'! Or as my wife says: Fake it 'til we make it!

I would like to get some projects finished up around here to join you guys. Keep posting what ya'll are up to and I will eventually get back out.
We went to some lake nearby, but that wasn't any real fun and the next time went to another lake no fun either.
In a past GTG not to Murphy's we did Bastrop Park before the fire and also visited the Car Museum in Bastrop which is now closed. I guess I'll more than likely go home after Murphy's unless a nice drive somewhere is agreed on. Could cruise La Grange South East of Winchester. Probably not much to look at. I was going to cancel on this GTG but when I say I'll do it, I'm committed and I want to support you by just having one more Crossfire there.
Our first GTG at Murphy's, we had 15 Crossfires there and the 2nd GTG we had 10.
Re: After dinner route - I decided to follow my first thought. A year and a half ago, Bastrop State Park was devastated by fire. This was a historical fire and has changed the face of the state park. After dinner, folks may head on home, or follow me to Buescher State Park and follow Park Road 1c to (and through) Bastrop State Park.
