Need Crossfire Safe Dealership in South Florida
To all,
I visit the forums a lot, but don't post a great deal. I am looking for a good Crossfire Friendly dealership in Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood / Sunrise area
of South Florida. I fournd a post about a dealership in Delray Beach, but it is a bit far for me.
I had been taking it to Massey Chrysler in Davie, but they are going to destroy my car if I keep taking it there. Second to the last time I went there, they did not put the oil filter on correctly. Two days later, I had white smoke blowing out of the back of my car going down 595. When I opened the hood, everything was soaked with oil. I made it back to the dealership and they wiped the engine down (they did not clean it properly, I might add). Needless to say, I lost 1/2 days work.
Within a week, I started to get cooling system lights intermittently. I added water to the reservoire, and the alarm did not permanently go away. As it turns out the fan was only working intermittently. It finally failed altogether and the light stayed on permanently. I took it back to the dealership and asked if the oil getting in the fan motor could have caused it to fail, and they said absolutely not. I am a certified electronics technician and can tell you that this could absolutely cause an electric motor to fail, but it was like arguing with a stump.
They finally called me back and said that I would need the fan and fan controller replaced, as well as the coolant level sensor, and I would also need the thermostat replaced and the cooling system flushed and filled. I asked how a thermostat or engine coolant has anything to do with an electric fan? They also said that it was all out of warranty and it would be in the thousands (they wanted $700 for the fan controller alone).
Needless to say, I brought up the fan TSB and told them I would be taking the car to another dealership to have it checked for the TSB and that I would sue them for the diagnostic fee, if that turned out to be the issue. After my temper tantrum, they agreed to replace the fan under the TSB and wanted me to pay for the coolant sensor, which I did (though, I don't believe it was the issue). A week later, I finally had my car back (after being promised the car 4 days straight).
I really do not trust these guys any more and would like to know if someone had had a good experience around here with a dealership that is still in business?
Thanks everyone, the forum is great and helps me with a lot. The TSB stuff alone just saved me a ton of money and hassles.

PM AMX1397, Jim. He lives up your way. I deal with Planet Dodge in Doral which is a bit of a drive. Jim has had a good relationship with whom ever he uses for his SRT. Hope it is not Massey.

I couldn't even get the morons at Arrigo Dodge in West Palm (I beleive) to get me into the test drive for a NA for sale there a year ago.
Unless they have a certified tech there, I wouldn't bother.
