Orlando - Church Street Station Car Show
I decided to take in this car show yesterday since it is just a few miles from home. They had about 75 cars there and just one XF - a SSB SRT6. I located the owners, Tony and Judy, who were relaxing in the shade and I had a great chat with them. Really nice folks. I look forward to taking the wife's XF to this show in the future. (It'll get me out of doing yard work and detailing 'Baby' is not work).
That nice couple with the SSB SRT also have a red roadster that is her car. I have been trying to get them to check out the forum for years. We will see them at the Daytona Beach Dream Cruise too. I am pretty sure that they live in Deland or Deltona because I usually see them at that show.
We thought about doing that show & I think they have another one the first weekend in October. I will have to check out the "cruise news". Chuk & I took our 2 for a show friday night & another one saturday night. It was just lovely out the last few nights!!!

I think they do them once a month for a few months in a row then break when the weather gets cold.
Tony said that they skip November and December due to the holidays.
DeLand has some rock and roll music so I'm going to use that as the motivator to get my wife, Baby's owner, up that way next.

Goal setting 101 ..... 5 is a good # to try for!
Church Street Station...... the first Saturday of October.... 12pm to 5pm..

He says 5 because we are almost half way there with our 2 .... lol. Looks like we almost have 5 now! You know we can almost always get John Book to go too!

Achievable goal......I think so. Scallop season will be over by then, so the temptation to head to the Gulf will not be a factor. And a 30 minute trip beats 3.5 hrs on the road in the 6.

It looks like the Orlando - Church Street Station Event - may see a few more XFs on October 1. chuK_138 set a goal of 5 and we will post a list this weekend of who is attending.
Here is a link to the event: Church Street District : Orlando, Florida
The entry fee is $6.00
There is an application that releases the City requires for insurance purposes you can download it and either mail it back or bring it with you.
We could probably gather under I-4 first and then go in as a group where we could park together?
Let's keep in touch.

I checked out the link for the show. It says that we need to pre-apply with a photo. It also says that they will decide where to place each vehicle. Did you hear anything about that while you were there? It sounds like a cool show.

I spoke with Lisa from Church Street this morning. She said
1. we have the option of either pre-applying or filling out the 4page document when we get there.
So, for those who do not pre-apply, we could provide them with the sheet to complete.... basically, it is very brief.... there is a lot of legalese there that says that the City is not responsible for some yahoo scratching our car.
I will let Lisa know in advance how many of us will be showing up and that we will come in together and then, we will have a space together. Lisa seemed very amenable to working with us and having the show grow.
2. The show will continue each month i.e., they will not skip November or December.
They probably ask for pictures so some hoopties or 1996 Impalas don't show up. We won't have any problems getting our cars thru I would imagine.
