Default Potential Differentials

I was curious about what differentials will swap into the crossfire and what their ratios are.

I think our only options are the wavetrac and phantom grip. I am not sure about ratios on either though. I bunch of the SRT6s are running Wavetrac, maybe they would know. I know at least one forum member had a phantom grip, but I can't remember who.

No possible oem swaps? I wanted to run a ratio in the 2.70:1 to 2.80:1 area.

Well there is new hope we will be able to do a gear swap. Only one I know that has pulled it off so for is Jim. The wavetrac, is a unit that replaces the spider gears, has nothing to do with gear ratios. It is a limited slip replacement. Any we have 1 V-8 conversion running a 3.27 vs the stock 3.07 in an SRT chassis. Only one I know of to date.

I don't believe diffs have a computer, it's just a matter of fitment. I'm usually wrong tho. I'd like to think a diff swap is pretty straight forward. Was hoping there were compatible diffs lower than a 3.07

If it were that easy, I would be running at least a 3.73 rear ratio. It is monitored by the ECU...TCU.. and it will go into limp mode...I believe either Rudy, or Speedriven or a combination of both have figured some of it out. But haven't heard anything since they put the 3.27 in... So right now....no...no swaps..

Jeez, I thought we were going to have a mathematics thread on potential and differential equations.
It would make a change I guess.

you can run any differential ratio you want, as long as you can get the differential to fit in the back of the car, and get someone to reprogram your TCM to that gear ratio. For example:if you have an SRT 6, which is a 3.07 factory gear ratio, and you want to use the Limited differential which has a 3.27 gear ratio and other than the yoke is an easy swap,( meaning you Have to use the SRt 6 yoke)
now for real change you can remove the differential, remove the axles remove the hubs, respline the hubs to fit the axles from a SRT 8 Challenger, and the rear suspension housing, drill a hole about 1 1/4 inches in diameter, get the aluminum Differential mounting plate from the Dodge charger, have the axles cut approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch each, now installed axles in the diff. and the hubs, both everything up, send your TCM,,,There is only two companies that can reprogram your TCM so that it works flawlessly and they are,,, speedriven In Chicago Illinois,or J S Benz in Miami Florida, have them reprogram your TCM 391 gears,,,,that's right I said 391 gears , my next differential, if and when I break this one will be a Ford 9 inch,
any gear ratio will work as long as you have the TCM program for it.

how's that for new information jim

Are there any Benz duffs that are a direct mechanical bolt in other than the 3.07?

slk320,,,skl32...c32.. and these you may have to use your yoke as some are 3 inches across,,
and some are 3 3/4" and some have Axle stubs, which means you'll have to take the cover off remove the C clip,,You may even have to change the seals to make them fit your axles,, and then slide your axle in jim

So, Jim, if I find a rear end that will bolt up under this baby, Speedriven can reprogram the TCU with out a hiccup? I haven't heard that and I just talked to Rudy about your tranny rebuild.... Well, a winter project to find the right rear end gear and housing...
