Default gas vapor

Can someone tell me where to find the charcoal filter and purge control valve and how can I get to that. Do I have to drop the gas tank?

It 'looks' like it might be behind the splash shield in the right rear fender well, but don't quote me on that.
See picture.

See picture.
It is under the hood by the frame. The valve is on the DS fender.
You get at it from below, just as your diagram says.

I'm confused (yes, easily, especially lately). This assembly is inside the rear tire area able to be seen after removing the right rear tire (left hand drive vehicles) correct? What is under/inside the hood/frame area?

I looked where I thought it was and it was conspicuous by it's absence.
Geez, I am getting slow.

Thanks Dave, I just couldn't visualize that picture as being in the front.
George, we are talking about the charcoal canister here.

I knew that George, I had just seen mine (the cover is not completely covering the area involved, you know, that plastic cover protecting the pump/filter, and hoses) when I was rotating tires and inspecting the underside of the car the other day. I thought maybe there was other parts under one of the front fenders relating to the evap system. I was trying to clarify and possibly learn a little more about the systems in my car. Glad to know I wasn't mistaken and that there are no other evap components under the front fenders.
