Attached are some screenshots of the iCarsoft Scanner? You have to tell the scanner to ignore the fact that it detects a Chrysler vehicle (VIN) and follow the menu options for the R170 chassis.

Seem to be a number of different ones by iCarsoft. do you mean this one ?

Then you just tell the scanner it is a SLK320 and it will reset the SRS (air bag) light in a '07 Crossfire ? If so will just order one.

Yes - I've used it to reset a few SRS lights on Crossfires close to me. Fortunately, the CDJ dealer near me had the OEM scanner tool and performed the airbag recall w/o any incident. They sold the Crossfires and still have 2 technicians on staff that worked on them.

There are quite a few YouTube videos out there that cover the use of the iCarsoft scanners. Check a few of them out. There's a good one where the guy tests the scanner on a BMW Mini and he resets the SRS light with it.

Hate to beat this to death (but have been called AR, OCD, and HFA) but have you ever used it to reset the SRS system (air bag) on a '07 or '08 Crossfire ? Apparently something is different hence the STAR bulletin.

Have you ever just checked yours with the iCarsoft to see if it can talk to it ?

My concern is that the dealer that did the airbag recall on mine at first said it was the URC (SRS system controller) because their system could not talk to the SRS system at all. So if the iCarSoft system is able to verify that your '07 is working properly then I would feel a lot more confident about buying one.

Yes - the scanner detects the airbag system in my 2007 XFire. The screenshots I posted are from connection to my 2007 XFire. Here's the
that tests all the functionality (but on a BMW Mini).

OK, just ordered my Christmas present to myself. Have been looking for something that could handle both my '07 Crossfire and '01 SLK320 ('01 was first year of 16 pin OBD-II connector). Have been waffling for some time since found that Carley Pro for Mercedes only works with later cars and you convinced me to try the iCarsoft. Should be here next week.

Still like Torque pro for quick looks via Bluetooth (have a dongle in each late car) but this should handle the Mercedes based.

How about SRS reset on 05 and 06 XFs?

Would expect those to be easier. If you look at the bulletin it is '07-'08 that are different (added knee air bags for one thing).

Will the iCarSoft MBII has arrived and is apparently not the same as the i980. Works for full diagnosis on both the '01 SLK320 and '07 Crossfire. Does list the SLK32 AMG so expect you also work on SRT. Is able to talk to the SRS system on both.

Still have some things to learn but is the most useful for under $200 I've seen.

Agreed, I have one and it works on my '05 Limited, '05 SRT6 and '13 MB GLK diesel.

That is good to know if one of mine fails to find a fault.
PS
Does it do Hyundai?

It has a "generic" OBD-II capability, essentially the same as Torque Pro. Difference is that the MBII also reads all of the proprietary subsystems in a Merc (and the same ones are used in the Crossfire - is really very little Chrysler except the badges, wheels, and rear wing.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Later,

At your service Dave, let's hope we don't have to use it! Yes, it will read & clear the OBDII codes on Daniela's Elantra.

ANFSCD - Record Mode.

In my MBII I have under TOOLS these is a setting "Record Mode". This is not covered in the manual. Hopefully this allows saving of test information ("REC" is on the screen during testing) to an offline device. Any idea how do I do this or otherwise use this setting please ?

Under REVIEW is an Upload Record setting but says it is not supported in this version.

Sorry, I haven't had a need to record any data. Their website question form is here: www.icarsoft.us_Questions

Well this is a crock. For Mercs in general I keep a record of test runs so I can compare if anything changes. Torque Pro and Carley Pro bot provide a way to send or upload the logs and test reports. If the iCarSoft MBII is unable to save or upload reports that is a major problem.
