Default AC Dead Pulley ?

Anyone want to fabricate a dead pulley that will replace the AC compressor pulley so I don't have to fiddle with a smaller serpentine belt when the compressor and refrigerant housing is removed ? I would need it in two weeks.

Derek,
Have you checked with Summit Racing? I did a quick search on their site and found this:

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...45&D=%2D115545

It might also be worth giving them a call to see if they can find you something MB/Crossfire specific.

Thanks, I will give them a call on Monday. Worse case, I'll pull the compressor to see if I can gut it and leave the housing and bearings.

Why not just contact a local machine shop and provide them the details. They should be able to get to you pretty quickly.

I might be wrong but with the a/c clutch disengaged there shouldn't really be any more drag than an idler pulley?

You are correct, however the pump weighs 12 lbs. which if removed equates to another 1/8 hp. It's all down to bits and pieces and tenth's of a pound / hp for me now...

HDDP you are still working on the easy stuff weight wise. Time to get a little more radical - trim off the extra length on all the bolts used on the car. Bound to save you a pound or two.

That reminds me of one day at the track down in Tucson, some guy had a hopped up camaro and was yelling about how he has stripped everything out of his car and is still not hitting the times he wanted... ...he honestly must have weighed over 400 pounds... I wanted to tell him to get another driver, a horse jockey maybe...

Come on guys... I'm tall and skinny... It's my version of the Jenny Craig diet for the Crossfire.
