As promised, I am giving my complete (take it as it comes, semi-pro Crossfire racer) opinion of the Sprint Booster after my events this weekend.
Bare in mind I was running a fairly technical road course called ButtonWillow Raceway in the #13 counter clockwise configuration and I was using some seriously crazy fuel mixtures of Sunoco 100 mixed with 20% Proylene Oxide. The ambient temps. were down in the 60's and the track is at 2106 ft above sea level.
As mentioned in my previous post, I had very little testing time with the car after I installed the SB, just a local canyon road in the middle of the night to see if the thing worked at all... I must say, this definitely lets you put the "pedal to the metal" very quickly.
This works perfectly for the sections of the track where you want quicker acceleration, eg. coming out of a turn into a straight away. I noticed a huge difference with my exits from the turns, with a slight press on the pedal, it jumped to full throttle and I was haulin'. I give it an (A+) on this.
The track has a couple of long "SWEEPER" turns that require very precise throttle manipulation (feathering) to maintain optimum speed and traction. When I attempted to feather the throttle, I often ended-up "GOOSING" it, then the rear-end would start to break loose and I would have to back off the throttle. As far as precise throttle control, I give the SB a (C-).
By the end of the weekend (6 races later) I often found myself producing these little "POPS" of acceleration when I was trying to feather the throttle through a turn.
Overall, the Sprint Booster is definitely a valuable modification for fast acceleration, but school is still out on whether the driver can develop the skill / touch to learn how to feather the throttle with this installed...
Then again, I was running some crazy fuel that made my car think it was an NHRA dragster...

So, possibly the auto version would bring it down a notch for you without loosing your 'haulin' rating? I'll loan you mine if you wanna try it...

Just got mine today. Is there a way to tell which part # you have? Mine did not have any labels, markings, etc to identify it. The box simply says "MB". I assume if I got the 451 instead of the 451A that I ordered, it would not be good for the car/transmission (I have the auto) - if anyone knows how to tell which one it is, please let me know! Or if it really wont cause any damage if its the wrong one... Thanks! Looking forward to trying it out.

Guys, there's really no need to coordinate a group buy anymore. Go to: slkfans.com. This guy is very nice to deal with and his price is very reasonable.
Quick ship too.

Hi guys,
I just ordered a Sprint Booster from SLKfans.com and look forward to receiving it.
It says that it works for many MB vehicles. Does anyone know if there is any compatibility with the 300c because it would be fun to try it on the 5.7 litre. I would prefer to know if there is a chance of it working before I start pulling it apart.
I have ordered it for my Crossfire but would like to test it on the 300c before finally fitting it to the Crossfire and leaving it there.
I only have what you guys call a Limited Auto 2004 Crossfire - not an SRT. I find the 300C has better throttle response and revs more freely than the Crossfire. Some may say "yeah, but it *is* a HEMI". I would have thought the Crossfire would have revved more freely and be more punchy but lacked the grunt of the 300C.
Perhaps this is an observation for another thread.

You could make it work on the 300C, by making your own connector to jumper through the SB. All you need is the wiring schematics for the two different pedals. just as a warning, you might burn the clutches in the automatic, but try it anyways and see what happens.
I think technically you can modify anything to try to make it work. Practically, I would not try to modify a mod.
The risk is too high. I would not put the tranny at risk. I'm not even sure the connectors are the same.

With modern cars, if it's not plug 'n' play, I don't want to know about it. If I want to mess with things, I'll stick to my 70's era Chryslers.

FP: When you received the Sprint Booster from SLKfans.com, did it have the Bar Code on the box and a Bar Code attached to the Sprint Booster cable? If you look at MMZ's pictures of his order, there is a Bar Code with 451A listed on the box and the cable. I'm concerned about receiving the wrong model or a clone. Please respond ASAP.
