Default homemade shift ****

Well I couldn't stand the plastic piece of junk they used for the shift **** so I decided to make my own.
All parts where purchased from Mc Master Carr, total cost $8 for the ****, and used whatever I had laying around for the stem.
I drilled and taped set screws in the stem and sphere so there's no way anything can wiggle or slip out.
So far it feels terrific in the palm, a perfect fit, and doesn't stand out too much...

Looks great Dynamics! It's about the only one I have seen that actually matches the rest of the interior and looks like it belongs there, i.e. it doesn't look 'aftermarket'. The quality of the original is probably questionable but to me the shape is part of the Crossfire design theme.
Just my .02 but I don't think the interior of this car lends itself to being 'accessorized' too much, irrespective of the quality of the accessories - the design just too conceptual for them to blend in properly. I think there is probably a case for just improving on the quality and materials of what is already there though. I'm thinking real aluminum door pulls and dash panels, that sort of thing.

Thanks.

It's just a 1 7/8" aluminum **** handle that is threaded for 3/8-16 threads, I just drilled out the threads and drilled a hole for a set screw in the base of the ****. Also trimmed and trued the base off the aluminum handle so it sits flush against the trued up stem. You might need a lathe to true up the parts or use some aluminum tubing to cover the steel shifter rod.

Part number is: 6940K52

Just cut and paste the number in the search box at Mc Master carrs website. http://www.mcmaster.com/

To true up the sphere so it is flat on one end, chuck it up in a 4 jaw then tighten up. The rest is up to you, otherwise do as you like with your own ideas.
