Has anyone had any problems with the ignition and key starting the car? After taking my car to a local car wash, my car has been almost impossible to start with the key. Its as if it were locked. I have a 6 spd Blk 2004 Coupe. I am taking it to the dealer this week but was curious to see if i was the only one with this issue.

Maybe you've already tried this, but wiggle the steering wheel when you turn the key. The Crossfire's steering wheel locks whenever you shut off the car. Also, what part of Miami are you in? I'm in Coral Gables.

 

Had this problem with my 2005. They have to replace the complete switch as there is a problem with them. It has been ok since. Lorne

 

Thanks...yeah i am very familiar with this feature! That is working ok but it really sucks when it get stuck in the correct steering position and you have to turn it just enough to turn the key.

 

That's what I'm afraid of...I went to South Beach and got stuck one night for about 35 minutes. The key is positioned so that when you have to grab the whole key and it won't turn on, the alarm flashes the lights on and off.

I have an appointment for this Saturday at Fairbanks Chrysler...

When mine was new, it had to have the ignition replaced because it locked and wouldn't turn at all. You may want to get it into the dealer soon.

 

Wow...when you first got it? I had mine for a least two years...

 

Take it to Tamiami Chrysler on SW 8th ST. They have treated me very well when I was there.

 

I might just take your advice on that...but have you seen the traffic going in that direction?

 

Haha yeah, I usually go at about 6 am so I can get there before traffic gets horrible.

I had mine replaced under warranty. My dealer sent it to the MB dealer across the street as there is a special tool for this job?? No cost to me.
