Default Auto Zone still has 0w40 Mobil 1

I've read in a couple of posts that Mobil 1 has stopped producing 0w40 weight oil.
I picked up all they had on the rack today, and the guy at the counter said he hadn't heard anything about it being discontinued.
I've got enough to do 3 more oil changes now.
I guess I'll just keep buying it when ever I see it.

Interestingly enough, I stopped by a Mercedes dealer a while back to buy an oil filter, and the parts guy showed me a TSB that said the SLK32s should start using 5W40 (if I recall correctly) and that the SLK320s could use either weight. Next time I'm in there I'll ask them for a copy...

I would think 5W40 would be fine unless you are in sub -0- weather.

I'm an ams/Oil dealer and have called the factory about the 0-40 and I was told they will be issuing a statement about which oil will be able to give max protection from them. Remember the ams oil is strictly made from vegetable sources and gives up to 3 times the protection over the petrol oils. The ams oil also does not need changing for up to 25K miles and not that goes the same for the oil filters. Seems the oil gives extreme protection against friction and therefore does not need to filter particles if there aren't any. I'm going to use the 15-40 100% synthetic in my Roadster srt when she is broken in at around 5K miles.

AMSOIL 5W-40 European Motor Oil (AFL) meets our cars recommended standard of (MB229.3 or MB229.5). Also, AMSOIL carries WIX filters on their website.

Here is a comparison of AMSOIL standard 5W-40 Synthetic to Mobil 1 SuperSyn, from my website;

White Hot, what does, synthetic (non petroleum based) oil, (that we all use) have to do with "Demons" from Iraq?
And just exactly what is it that you win, and we lost?

I'm not trying to pick a fight with ya, I just don't understand what you meant by your last post., that's all.

AMSOIL seems like an awesome product, but it's kind of a pain to get. I hate UPS. I got Mobil 1.

Got mine just last week at Auto Zone. I believe it was $6.30 a quart. I almost bought them out as they only had 10 quarts left. I assume it a regular stock item there, although the neanderthal at the counter couldn't even tell me if they had it.

what oil brands work fine in the crossfire srt-6, i have used mobil and castrol also this car '05 has like 300 miles on it now i know y6u can go like 7,000 miles on an oil change.

also i noticed on the tail pipes they are like a little black **** in the center of the tail pipes.
i guess this is where water drips out from first starting the engine (condensation).

anybody else’s tail pipes black ?
Amsoil 0-40W synthetic is more than adequate.
