Default Sprint Booster - new source or new group buy?

It appears us "latecomers" to the Crossfire may be out of luck re a reasonably priced source for the Sprint Booster? The SLK guy and mikesedan both seem to be unavailable any more. I found the Hong Kong guy on ebay at the $280 price but that is both higher than the $250 and $220 the others asked and he doesn't list the 451A, only the 451 and a 451A2. I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of any other source, if anyone has a 451A for sale or if there are enough others desiring a Sprint Booster to try and repeat the group buy that some of the others on this forum pulled off a while back. Thanks.

Use eBay. There's plenty listed.

Yes - I've looked at Sprint Booster's home site. I have no idea how to order from them beyond sending an email inquiry. They have no price list or ordering page that I can find. I've also searched ebay and the only SBs that come up at the moment are the $280 + $20 S/H ones sold by the Hong Kong guy. Again, price aside, he doesn't list an A version, only the manual and A2 (AMG) versions.

The problem with the OEM of the Sprint Booster was he would only accept bank transfers, and not PAYPAL or Credit Cards.

I also tried going with Mr. Bolekos but my local teller had some issues (brain damage) and got the transfer mangled.

So I too, went the EBAY/PAYPAL method.

Also, to those that need the Automatic version, make sure that you order BDD 451A not the BDD 451A2. The A2 version is the lite version of the automatic and has been said to have been developed for AMD versions of the SLK (who knows, perhaps HDDP you can shed some light on this subject).

Back on the subject; Although the parts are not listed, if you tell them exactly what model of XFire you have they will cross-reference that information with the Sprint-Booster site and give you the correct Sprint Booster. Assuming that you are using the same dealer via E-Bay that I and some others have used.

IRWIN- the 451 is the SB for the 6-speed.

XFH- Thanks. Yes, since the 451 A2 was listed for AMD applications, I figgured it would not work on my Limited with an auto. I had hoped that there was another (new) supplier out there that my forum and Internet seaches had failed to uncover but it's good to know that the Hong Kong guy might be able to get the 451A that I need. Thanks again.

I Returned From A 17 Day Trip Thru Greece And Had A Driver Take Me To Boulekos Performance Where They Designed And Sell The Sprint Booster. I Purchase The Automatic Unit For My 6 Speed Ltd. The Place Was Awesome And You Can Call Them On The Phone As Per Their Website. There Are English Speaking Employees And They Were Really Great. It Makes An Amazing Difference - Like Night And Day. Car Is Now A Rocket. Do Not Hesitate To Call Them And Order One.

Hey Mitchell why haven't we seen you at the Beach on Sunday mornings if you're such a Crossfire enthusiast? Try and make it to the old OBI parking lot between 7 AM and 10 AM (the earlier the better to get a spot) There are now 5 of us that show up when we can but you won't be alone. There'll usually be a 1,000 or so other LI car nuts there with everything from Ferrari Enzo's and Lambo's to rat rods and bikes. Great way to spend a Sunday morning.

I Have Not Had An Opportunity During The Summer But Will Take A Drive Out After Labor Day. I Made One Ride Out Before July But It Was After 10:00 A.M.
The Summer Is Very Hard For Me With Traveling And Other Weekend Obligations.

I really don't understand why people want this... Just floor it all the time...

Sorry for taking it off topic...

but invest your money in a real upgrade like an ecu tune or a good exhaust no?

It all about the tip-in. It's nice to have some throttle movement without having to mash your foot to the floor. Now, to do something about that overly-stiff throttle spring. . .

What is a "REAL" upgrade? The SB makes a real difference correcting throttle lag without always " Flooring" it. Tuning your ECU also makes a real difference in HP BUT has no effect on throttle lag, they are two separate issues and some people don't see a need for one or the other and some people are not bothered by either one and like the car as is. I have both and would not want to give up either one. IMHO.
