How are you doing? I know you are now in the most difficult part of the conversion and hope you are having some success!

Hello Friends,
Good News Today: ENGINE CRANKS with V8 ECU

Yes it's true, I cannot believe it myself.
After several attempts and trials, I finally managed to run the ECU on my car. This is not the original ECU is the one I had with the V8 engine and was originally on a CL 55 AMG.

Now the ECU is programmed to operate an engine with V8 Kompressor and is married to my car, DAS (Drive Authorization System) is active. It contains program taken from SL 55 AMG Kompressor and run with my VIN number of my car.

I had to program the electronics several times for it to work, now I know how. First it does not crank, that means that the immobilizer is active.
I'm not sure I can share the details in public immediately.

All I can say is that I have modified binaries of the FLASH and EPROM to the ECU and I then initialized and enabled it using the system Xentury DAS Mercedes-Benz.

It does not start for the moment but just Crank, because I have to adapt a 6 pin plug from engine wiring harness to the Front SAM (Signal acquisition Module), I just plugged wires that manage Starter and injectors, today I will finish pluging Coil Plugs, and secondary Fan and START.

Wires are not colored same as initial V6 engine harness, plug is not same shape, I must check the two electrical diagram of V6 and V8 to find matches.

With Regards.
Karim.

Karim,

This is great news! Getting past the IMMO is a big accomplishment, especially if you are able to store the correct VIN!! Great work and I hope you can help me when my time comes with my conversion. I am about to buy a cloned version of the MB Star DAS system. did you have to use developer mode?

Thank you LantanaTX,
Surely, I will share my knowledge with you when you will need, but you have to desolder, program and solder the Eprom, and I can tell you what to change inside.
Yesterday, I noticed that the engine management program that I programmed into the Eprom did not correspond with the engine cable harness, that's why I did not get any spark.

To be continued..

Karim,

Could be that the 55 Krompressor program is looking for a speed density sensor and your wiring is set up for Mass air flow sensor? Maybe you should consider getting it running first without the super charger and then figure out how to add the s/c latter? Let us know how it goes and best of luck.

Thanks you all,

I'm happy accopmlishing this hard work.
finally, all that time spent studying books, trying softwares, browsing websites, hunting for infos, waiting for spare parts, it has paid.
I wish you all feel the same rise of adrenaline that I had at the time I put Ignition On and the engine roars like a lyon.

Great thanks to you.

Karim.

First of all you need Mercedes Benz EPC.net (electronic part componenent), WIS.net (Workshop Information service).
Bosch ESI, Winhex, software to program electronic chips (GALEP 5).

Book: Automotive computer controlled systems ...

My personnal HDD is 250 Gn and it is almost full .. and about 3 years research and self studying.

And of course right mechanic tools .

RDV soon to show you DYNO result .

Thanks,
It depends how many parts you will get for free.
New Mercedes Benz parts are expensive, and it's very difficult to find used AMG parts, I almost bought theim new.

5K$ is too low, even if you do conversion yourself.

I saw AMG engine on ebay 8000$, add to that parts you have to change around it, you close your eyes and open, you'll raise over 15k$ ..

Good luck.
Karim.

anychance I can send you a SRT6 /AMG32 ecu and program it for operation in my NA crossfire? I want to low boost without monkey bussness of the stock NA ecu. the srt6 ecu is the way to go if you can make it work under low boost and in the NA cars

what is required to do this, just a vin number re-flash or more ?

So Kanzus got his running, what's going on with Lantana??? I might be in need of some of your expertise soon. I am doing a motor swap on an old Volvo S70. 5 cylinder turbo. The guy loves this POS so much he's paying the 6300 for a factory reman. Which means no warranty core return. Looks like I'm getting paid money and a turbo to put in a motor. Limited Crossfire my be second turbo in line....
