Is the c55 diff compatable with the NA gears, housing and/or axles?

I have no idea about the compatibility of the ring and pinion gears, but I have a very strong suspition that the whole Pumkin can be bolted into our cars.

Who's gonna be the guinea pig for this one. LOL I know the one from a base will fit in there just fine but a 3.46 or even better yet 3.92 for a track car sounds SO tempting!

What did the 3.46 come in? that or a 3.70 would be my choice for an all around gear.

well, I had a 3.73 in my Z 28, it was a grt gear...but we are turning 6200, my Z was turning 9000....still something in that area of 3.55-3.73....would be a grt gear for these cars...5 speed auto vs 4 speed standard in the old days...so where can we get a gear for our cars, and who can reprogram it? I have been asking everyone this question for sometime, including our friends in Germany...

The rear gear can be programed with the STAR DAS system. We did this with my car. Where to find the gear? If they use the same rear end a good place to look is smaller engined cars such as 230's four bangers and maybe the the smaller V6 240's.

Just checked and 230's seem to use the 3.27 but C240's use 3.46 !!

Hear is on on Ebay. Ignore the picture as it is just a file photo and not of the actual diff.

I am about 90% sure it will fit. I was under a C240 last week at the shop where my car is and the entire suspension looked axactly like ours.

We believe that my donor ECU has a problem which probably resulted from the original accident the CL500 was in. Beckmann has my replacement ECU and is unlocking it right now. I can have it back tomorrow or Friday. I am about to check with the shop to make sure Robert Karause is coming in tomorrow before paying for next day air.

Hey... you can play with what ever you like......but we dont need to know...TMI

So, if you change your 'rear end' ratio, wont you have to reprogram the car to set up everything properly?

yes, that is the REAL discussion...man, what rear end were you thinkin? yes, mike, that has been the problem all along...I wanted to change rear end gears, Lantana may have the answer to not only the programming, but another rear end from an MB that has an even higher ratio than what I have been looking at...so, while waiting for the V-8 to get up and running, we have been discussing our rear ends...

I am not touching the rear end comments LOL, but you can change ratio in the computer and it is not very hard to do. My ECU wasn't done in time to ship back today so i will have it here on Friday.

You keep on discussing whatever you want, not as though there is anything wrong with that mind you.
Rest assured I am not going to butt in.
