Question Re: V8 Crossfire Conversion Diary

Hi LantanaTX,

enjoy every second you hit the gas, it´s fantastic I know . How is going with water temperture of your engine while your ride? In which range was it? If you are back home after your next ride so please check your oil temperture of gearboy in DAS. I figure out to fit an bigger oil radiator.

regards V8 Max

Thanks Max, The temps are rock solid and stable. The temp guage is right at the mid point of the guage which is where it stayed with the V6. I am very please with my dual fans. I just found two of the most powerful and thinest fans available and wired them to the stock plug connector that I cut off of the stock fan. The fans runs just like stock off the fan controller. It was still very hot here when I first got the engine running and we let it aidle for over thirty minuntes and the electric fans kept the temps perfect.

Wow ...I just watched the video clip with my Bose headphones on !!!
Sweetest sound I've ever heard coming from a Crossfire.
All that hard work has to be now feeling worth every hour spent.
I hope to be back in Texas someday to ride shotgun and feel that V8 power.

Gary

I am in no way knocking this at all...

With that said, when you nail the gas at idle, you can hear that sucking noise. Sounds like time for a free-er flowing intake, then you'll really be roasting those tires.

YEAAAAAHHHHHHH Baby!!!

It was determined by others that it might need some editing but should be back up soon. See debut thread for details.

Did the police come and take the video for evidence in the court case? They scan for this kind of stuff these days.

if it was me I would slap a 2.3 Kompressor badge on her and put a quiet muffler on the exhaust, go play with the AMGs and Stangers. see what they say

I also just stuck the SRT-8 badge on and will see what the other members think today.

Your plate is still clearly visible at 1:34 of the video, just to let you know.

Love the work you did!
Enjoy the car.

Let me tell you, "you're f'n insane" (should be taken as a compliment)

I've read all 44 some odd pages today, the trials and tribulations you've gone through in this thread is nothing but amazing. You go from an idea to finished product where most people would have ran at the first problem. I'm sorry you had to go through a divorce in the middle of you're project but thank you for sticking to it and finishing. I look forward to seeing you in St. Louise or the Dragon if you go.

Lantana, I couldn't find you on benzworld so I just came here to ask..

What aftermarket performance are you looking at doing with this car? I didn't have real good luck finding anything for the cl500 engines.

I am LantanaML320 on Benzworld and MBworld. I was active on those sites until I traded the Alabama Mercedes for the German Chrysler. I posted about the conversion on those sites but there wasn't much interest.

I am looking at SLR cams, headers and either a rear mount turbo or the MB V8 Supercharger. I am leaning towards the turbo but like the OEM look of the supercharger if it will fit under the hood. The turbo offers the most performance potential. I will probably go Turbo and just bought my first part tonight in that quest. I bought a ML55 engine cover which would work great with a turbo installation. I will either build my own system or go with a Squires STS turbo. I am back to doing my research!

Also I want to thank everyone for the great comments. the encouragment I have gotten on here has kept me going when things looked impossible.

I saw your post over there and you got the same response I get when I post on a Mopar forum. I killed the internet syndrome.

I imagine they don't know what to think. Like putting a Mercedes engine in a Dart.
