I'm having a Bluetooth hands-free kit fitted this week. Do I need to worry about the battery being disconnected and it effecting the radio security.

I think there is some form of security feature that makes the radio ineffective if disconnected from the battery that calls for the radio to need a factory reset.

Any ideas???

 

With my prior Mercedes, I heard people telling about problems after disconnecting the battery on the Benz forum. If you need to disconnect power could you pull a fuse instead of disconnecting the battery?

 

I had the battery completely out and it was dead as a door nail numerous times before I replaced it. I never had a problem with the radio.

So I've had the hands free kit installed, the guy disconected the battery to do the work - no problems.
