To many Sensors...
[FONT='Tahoma','sans-serif']I am having a heck of a time with my crossfire. Since January when I bought the car, it has now had the check engine light come on five times. Each time I have dutifully taken it to the local dealership where after a few days they give it back to me with the explaination that it was one sensor or another. I can accept that one sensor, or even two or three have gone bad on a newer car since there are so many of them, but everything that I have been taught about cars since I was five is saying that there is a bigger problem at large. I just wanted to know if anyone had any clue what could be causing a whole slew of engine sensors to fail one after another. Here are the particulars about my car if it helps.[/font]

Wierd.
If the ECU is popping out codes & the codes point to a sensor then the sensor is probably shot but, like you, I think it begs of something else deeper going on. Lousy ground perhaps? Battery issues? This car wasn't under water, was it? No accidents in its past?
As long as the car is still under warranty keep taking it back until it's squared away but I would try to find a different service department first. If your gut feeling is that the tech. is an imbecile then go with your gut & find someone else.

I dont have any specific history on the car, but I bought it from family who just happen to work at the dealership where it was, so I trust they would have told me if it was a flood car or there was some sort of damage. Thanks for the suggestion I am going to check the grounds and yes, it is going to another dealership this weekend.

FYI , I just spoke with the dealer and they said that it is a system purge valve this time. I am just about done with this car. Another $600 trip to the dealer and it is going down the road, I mean this is reddiculous.
My opinion - That dealership is taking you for a very, very expensive ride.
You say that you expect a "new car" to have "one two or three" sensors go bad, but let me tell you something, a new car shouldn't even have one sensor go bad.

There is a relay module in the same box as the ECU. They changed it in my car and the check engine lite never came on again. The chrysler tech rep told me it was a common problem. GOOD LUCK
I don't know if anyone is still reading this, but for my own mental well being I am posting an update anyway. I just got my car back from the dealership and it made it 4.4 miles before the "Check engine" light came on again. The dealership thought that they had the problem when they discovered that the gas cap was bad...obviously this was not the case. Here are the facts as I now understand them...appearantly the last dealership didnt think it was odd to change the same part every two weeks.
The tech at the dealer has now replaced a fuel system purge valve, explained to me as the part that releases the pressure from the fuel system, three times now. They have no idea what the problem is, but I am hoping someone out there may have heard of this and be able to point me in the right direction.
Thanks again all for the comments so far, I have been passing them along to the tech at the newdealership and making sure that they tell me what is going on this time.
