Default Tvt Ecu

I don't want to be rude to TVT by asking the tricks of the trade but.......... Does anyone know what program they are using to modify the stock ECU's ????

I don't mind sharing the software/hardware used. It's not black magic. Just very expensive hard to learn on stuff.

We use Optican for our OBD flasher and WINOLS and Dimmsport for the software. Currently LET will be doing all of our custom tunes. Jerry is extremely knowledgable when it comes to tuning and it would probably cost us more to learn how to use the software as effectively as he does.

my buddy uses HP tuners for all of the GM's and some ford. We are still waiting on chrysler/dodge to be released... I am going to need a custom tune if i do soo. I plan on building a turbo XF in the spring..

HP tuners are great for domestic cars. Dodge and Chrysler ECUs are not the same Mercedes. If your buddy wants to invest in European tuning they will need to look overseas for teh software.

Yes,
I used to own a 01' Stratty R/T. VERY underpowered, but a it was great car! Like the SLK 320 is to the Crossfire, the 2G Stratus is to the Eclipse. It is all mitsubishi except the body.......

while looking for parts and aftermarket tunning. The reason for the crappy price for the auto trans in the strauts and eclipse if because it was mercedes born. same witht the pcm which we thought was impossible to crack....... the pcm has a learning curve just like many of the new vehicle. This was not mopar or mitsu made like the neon and the vipers.....

http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions/41TE.html
The 41TE (renamed A604) is an all chrysler 4 speed electronic transmission used since the shadow and still used in some modern minivans... and is one of the most unreliable transmissions EVAR concieved.
Not even close to anything Mercedes.

And the "impossible to crack" stratus PCM is a joint effort between Mitsubishi and Chrysler. Same generation software as the neon. One step beyond the PCMs that came in the earlier Spirit and Shadow. All Chrysler PCMs since the 80s up until the DCX units have be probabilistic algorithm based and operate on dynamic calculations with no 2D look up tables to "tune". That's why there are very few aftermarket tuning solutions for any of them.

The F4A (42 & 51) series are completely different Mitsubishi transmissions that came in the cloud cars (stratus, sebring, cirrus) equipped with the Mitsubishi 3.0v6 and 2.4L SOHC drivetrains. In other words... rebadged Mitsubishis.

Cloud cars with the Chrysler 2.0 and 2.4L DOHC engines got the A604 (remnamed 41TE).

STRATUS - L4 2.0L/2.4L DOHC - 41TE A604
STRATUS - L4 2.0L/2.4L V6 2.5L - 41TE A604
STRATUS - L4 2.4L SOHC F4A42-2
STRATUS - V6 3.0L F4A51-2

I'm not sure how Mitsubishi developed their F4A transmissions or electronics... you may be on to something by claiming they are Mercedes inspired. Here is a link to a Mitsu auto trans wiki with info about the F4As and their INVECS II technology...

There are only a few software/hardware tools available to tune our cars which you can purchase no problem.
TVT are right that you will have to get them from overseas and expect no change from around $10,000 for the hardware, then you will have to get the software, then you will need to invest a good few years learning what a map is and how everything works.
The tuners really are amazing and you cant learn what they know in a few years let alone weeks.

Forget about toys you can buy on ebay as these are a sure fire way to kill your ECU.
Ask some of the technical guys on this forum and they will tell you the same.
