Default Trunk gate not locking

All of my doors look except for the rear gate. I can open it and the alarm goes off, but it never locks. Can anyone help me with this problem please. 07 xfire coupe 6spd.

Thanks,
Logan

Logan the vacuum line that activates the latch has a leak. It can be fixed under warranty, and is a problem many of us have had. It's no big deal, just call your dealer to set up an appointment.
Good Luck

Hey everyone, what would you suggest if the car isn't under warranty?

I called the closest 5 star dealer and told them the problem. I asked if they had the repair kit, mentioned the tsb about it.

Well the service manager said it doesn't sound like a vacuum leak, he said it sounded like an actuator problem. (wtf)

He wants $100 just to look at it and diagnose it, then ofcourse parts and labor. This doesn't sound right as you nice folks have basically diagnosed it for me!
How much should this cost to fix (roughly)?
I've been glued to the forum since I just got the car, so am a bit paranoid of the dealerships.

THANKS so much to you guys for making this a great forum!

Tal, if memory serves, it seems that somebody here did wind up fixing the problem themselves, (and posting how they did it) but I can't remember who it was.
Possibly Patpur, but I'm not sure.
Have you done a "Search"?
Sorry I can't be more help.
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply +fire.

I searched a bunch, and 90% of the answers were "will be fixed under warranty no prob."
I could have been more clear in that I am all thumbs and own no tools, so fixing it myself is not really an option.
I'm just worried of getting worked at the dealer.

When my line went I could definitely hear air going through the line after the doors locked. Its definitely a different sound than normal. If you doors lock and no noise I'd guess its wiring and not a pneumatic line issue. The problem with the line is they break anywhere from what I've seen, there isn't just one spot. Hope you find an easy fix, mine was fortunately under warranty.

Thanks Pat,
Yeah i have the hisssss, that is why I'm so sure its the vacuum leak.
Looks like everybody got it done under warranty or did it themselves.
If I take it in Monday I will post what it was and what they charged.

Here you go tal I found the TSB 5 Feb 05 08-009-05 Pneumatic Power Lock Repair Kit. There was a TSB on it, maybe they will take care of it? If not they have the kits, you might want to give it a try if you can locate the leak.
