Gave up on my Crossfire
Ok I admit the title is a little dramatic but its true. I LOVE THE Crossfire but the lack of aftermarket support and the serious tuning issues have realy become a problem for me. I knkow with the right amount of moneyyou can make anything fast but it has come to a point where I think I need to focus my effort on a new car. So I am keeping my crossfire, I have an automatic civic coupe for winter and the other day i picked a nissan 240sx. I have a smallblock that I am going to shoehorn into the car. I actually contemplated putting it into the crossfire but I dont feel to comfortable cutting into a car I owe payments on. So I have it all mapped out and for half of what I would have put into my crossfire I am going to have an 11sec v8 240. Not as cool as an 11 sec crossfire but in retrospect an 11 sec anything is pretty cool
you don't know what your talking about, lot's of aftermarket stuff, but no rice bling shiit available, just real perf parts, that cost real money. yeah stick with the nissan stuff.
I dont know what I am talking about. How many fast cars have you built? If you think that aftermarket support is an exhaust and a 400 dollar intake you are sadly mistaken. Tell me who makes pistons and rods for our car or who makes a decently affordable cam shafts. You obvoiusly have no referance of what these things should cost. What really is starting to sway me was the low sec civic that a friend and I built over the summer for 5k including the car. I want a really fast car not just a quick car and I have decided that that the crossfire is not the platform for it. And PS your a douchebag

Do you have a base/limited or a SRT6?
Nevermind I remember now- You had the Batmobile... So your getting rid of that?? And it is a limited right?
So what are you wanting from this forum? After 20 something post, you start a thread basically bashing the Crossfire in a Crossfire forum. What's the point? Don't expect a lot of support for your project here. But good luck anyway.
I dont want to sell the car. To be honest with you guys I love the damn car but I am not going to have unrealistic expectations for it. If my budget was unlimited then yeah I would do it all but then again if my budget was unlimited I wouldnt be driving a crossfire

Gotcha!!
Did you ever get a turbo setup? Did you get close with that, you'd be CrossfireFamous if you pull that off.

I got the turbo but ended up trading it for parts for my ninja. I gave up on that project and looked into another vehicle and I have settled on the 240

What year 240 did you get? I owned 1 for a weekend. That's a long story in itself, but it looked pretty tough at the time.
hopefully when chuck norris finishes that supercharger this wont be the case but its true, non srt-6 crossfires are impossibly hard to make really fast 1/4 mile times with. at least if your on a budget. GL with the 240 post pics, always been a fan of those cars.

The way SRT-6's are in the states you should have sold yours and bought one of them. I had the same mind set, it's really expensive to do things to the crossfire but it's such an amazing car I'm saving up and going to do mine up, it'l be worth the wait. Cheap jap cars are fast but thats exactly why, there cheap jap cars. To have prestige/sports car and make it fast thats something to be proud of because not many do it. But goodluck with the 240 in any case! let us know how you go with it.
I bet you could develop a new line of engine parts, and a bunch of us would join in the group buy. Nothing better than some one making up a new line of speed parts for us! Maybe you could develop a better valve train, or better pistons? Me thinks that MB has about as much R&D as required for the most part. What about making a lighter flywheel? Different gearing for the drive line? What about a lighter engine block?
Any engineers want to address what I want?
