Any suggestions??? My car has been in shop about a month....it will start intermittently....they have replaced the ignition, some brain that works with emissions and a pulse module....

When i go to start it and turn the key either absolutely nothing happens or the car starts.....it doesn't seem to make any difference if it is hot or cold.

 

Do a Search on Relay Control Module !!!

 

Do you get a CEL? If so, what code?

Thanks for the info.....have given it to chrysler service.....sure do hope that this is the answer...and that they will try it....

 

What is CEL?? Is this something I should ask the service tech ?

 

Sorry about the flagrant overuse of forum acronyms. CEL is the "Check Engine Light" for those normal folks out there.

 

It's your RCM it sounds like, search for Relay Control Module. It sends a false note to the computer when it gets hot and skews the solder, causing the computer to think there is no fuel pressure. All the electronics work but it won't start, and it can also die mid-driving just as though it ran out of fuel.

It can be resoldered at the circuit board in no time, and you're not out the $200 bucks it costs from Chrysler/Mercedes.

 

This sounds like a problem I've had another car I once owned. It exhibited the same characteristics, and it turned out to be a bad main electrical ground. It's a very simple fix.

 

Sounds like it may be one of the common problems I've found on this site. Could be the relay control module.

Gives the part number and cost. Seems to be cheaper from the MB guys'.
Do a search on "relay control module" and you will see the symptoms are similar to yours.

Got my car back two weeks ago and so far so good.....they did put in a new relay control module after I gave them the info I got from here.....thanks
