What is this flashing symbol on my ODOMETER!!!
What is this flashing symbol on my ODOMETER!!!
OK so just to clear the air I did do a search ahead of time and looked in the owners manual and I couldn't find the answer I know this is a very easy question but here goes. when I start my car in the odometer widow a lightning bolt sort of looking thing(maybe it's a quantity indicator?) flashes with the number -100 next to it? Any idea what this is? Thanks for your help in advance!
Re: What is this flashing symbol on my ODOMETER!!!
It is to let owners know something on our cars could be wrong and to take it in to the dealer. A way to get your money!!! I just need to know how to re-set? I just changed my oil. I am showing to have serviced in 21 days....Help, and Thanks, Yellow rag-top.. Jay-Impala-man kkjc805@netscape.com

FSS Reset
1. turn the key to the on/run position.
2. within 1 second press the **** to the left of the display twice.
3. present status for days remaining or distance traveled is displayed. within 10 seconds turn key to off.
4. press and hold **** on left side of display while turning key to on/run again. present status is displayed once more. continue to hold button. after approx. 10 seconds a tone sounds and the display shows 6,000 miles for approx. 10 seconds.
5. release the ****
You should be able to do this. It takes a few attempts to get it right. One pointer ...the 10 seconds in step 3 refers to 10 seconds after the key is turned to the ON position. You have to turn it off before that expires. Let me know how it turned out.

Re: What is this flashing symbol on my ODOMETER!!!
That procedure is in the Owners Manual Chapter 4: Understanding Your Instrument Panel on Page 107.
After going in the car to get it when I'm indoors and then vice versa many times, I now keep the hard copy in the glove box and I downloaded the PDF file for in the house, get it here http://www.chrysler.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html Any model or year
