Default Michelin Pilot Sport A/S

I'm sure everybody has noticed that Michelin has launched their new Pilot Sport A/S series of tires which are almost identical to the Pilot Sport except that it is all-weather and has more than double the Winter rating compared to the regular Pilot Sport.

The only decrease seems to be in the Handling rating going from a perfect 10 to 9.

All other aspects of the A/S tire seem to out perform the Sport including even lower road noise.

I'm going to go head out and check the price on a set of Pilot Sport A/S tires for the Crossfire and see what they run. They have a $50 rebate now when you buy 4 tires, not that I think that's going to help much in terms of cost.

Anybody had any experience with the Pilot Sport A/S?

do they offer the new model in the same sizes as the old? as that should be a consideration..

personally if your going to be driving your car in the winter i would pick up some stock slk wheels and tires, tires would be alot cheaper as they would be smaller, and you dont have to worry about curbing your nice 18s or 19s..

later..

I believe they do come in the same sizes.

I really don't intend to drive the Crossfire in winter but things happen and I might have to.

The money would probably be better spent elsewhere once I find out how much they are.

My crossfire came with continental tires. I had michellin pilot sport on my new 300m special and chrysler paid to have them replaced as I didn't like the tire.

I think a/s is an option.

Yes, the Continental is an all season option.

I hear that the Pilot Sport A/S outperforms the Continentals though, but not personally verified.

Holy Crap! This is a 10-year old thread!

Anyway, Michelin just released a new Pilot Sport A/S 3 tire which I believe replaces the Pilot Sport A/S Plus tire with the cool rain channel. I think I'm going to buy a set. Has anyone tried them yet?
