Default Where is This Water Coming From?

First - I thank all of you for your technical advice and everything I know about my car I have learned from all of you. I have used the "search" numerous times but can not find any posts regarding my question.

When I pull up into my driveway, I notice several water spots left by my SRT6 on the pavement. My car just sits long enough to allow the garage door to open, but I have seen about five spots trailing up the driveway about the size of a half dollar. These only occur after I have driven the car, not when I leave. I know the logical thought would be from the air conditioning, but I am familiar with that and this occurs even when the air conditioning, fan, etc are all off. I have not noticed any water on the garage floor, or anything I can see under the hood. Coolant levels are fine and the car doesn't run over mid-temp even on the hottest days. I have never had a car do this, so I am perplexed. If it is a sign of impending trouble, I would like to know before my no-deductible warranty expires. Or is this normal for this type engine?

Thanks for your input.

is your driveway on an angle? Your rocker panels drain water from the cowl, and ive had mine clogged up with leaves and dirt and sticks, so the water might not drain until the car is moved onto another angle.

It is at a slight incline - but this occurs every time I drive the car.

I recall on some cars (all?) the a/c works even when you do not turn it on, this is to dehumidify the air. In humid conditions the coil frosts up and when the ice melts it will leave a trail of water.

This is likely to be accurate. The compressor on most late-model cars spins all of the time.

That would certainly explain the mystery water.

Does the fan need to be on for the compressor, or does
the compressor come on automatically when you start the car?

The compressor is a belt-driven accesory.
My question is-does it have an electric clutch like the olden days?
Bugger's a bit hard to get at...

Yes, it does.
The clutch is shown on page 24-72 of the Shop Manual.

If so-wouldn't that mean it does not run all of the time?

My guess is it cycles .....otherwise it would freeze up?

These cars have what is called an "COT" or cyceling orfice tube system. When the sensors read that you evaporator is about to freeze up then it shuts off the compressor buy disengaging the clutch on the compressor.Even thought the a/c pully is turnning its not atcualy pumping any thing. As far as when the a/c clutch is locked in, the only tme that should happen is when you turn on the a/c or the defroster. But the a/c clutch can go bad and stay on all the time.
