seat belt alarm
Someone out there has to figure out how to turn off the drivers seat belt alarm. Could it be something easy like removing a fuse? I wonder if the dealer's service department could do it. Help...
I've noticed that the alarm in mine only sounds when the car is in gear ( automatic trans.). If I start the engine and let it run with the trany in park.... no alarm. Even if I'm sitting in the seat. I don't know what the 6 speed does. Which trany do you have?

think yourself lucky, i had an MR2 roadster it had a passenger alarm when ever you put something heavy on the seat it kept going off and when you have no luggage space thats damn annoying!
I had a look at the wiring diagram, and it appears that the seatbelt disconnects the circuit rather than connecting it. So you should be able to just unplug the wires going to the belt latch and the car will think the seatbelt is always latched.
Anyone tried this yet? Where is the connector located (under the seat or under the dash)?
I would try it, but mine is still at the dealer getting a new heater fan motor, fixing a bad drive shaft vibration, and getting a new radio face.

Very Simple, Just Cut A Piece Of Plastic (thickness Similar To Factory ) With A Rectangular Hole In The Middle,(similar To The Factory Metal One),similar Shape And Everything.
Then Place It Where It Goes And The Alarm Should Get Off Forever.
Very Usefull For Short Trips.
No Need For Disconnections And Fuses.
Be Creative And Try To Imitate Just The Buckle Head Part.

seat belt chime...is a permanent thing.
The following information has been provided from the "dealerconnect.chrysler.com/service" via my local Chrysler dealer.
The chime warning system uses a single chime tone generator that is integral to the Instrument Cluster to provide an audible indication of the vehicle conditions that may require the attention of the vehicle operator. The chime warning system includes the following major components:
Headlamp Switch, Door Ajar Switch, Seat Belt Switch, Ignition Switch, Instrument Cluster, Coolant Level Sensor, Fuel Level Sensor, Washer Fluid Level Sensor.
Hard wired circuitry connects many of the chime warning system components to each other through the electrical system of the vehicle.
If the Instrument Cluster or the chime tone generator is damaged or faulty, the Instrument Cluster assembly must be replaced.
