Default Code P0128..Anyone else?

Well, now that the temps have dipped, I'm getting this code which I reset everyday now. I think it's because I have the Code-3 modded thermostat along with the fan mod. The coolant temps doesn't even get near the halfway mark as the definition of the code plainly states... Anyone else getting the same thing?

"Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature"

When I designed and installed my 170 stat I got it; and went back to my Stant 180 stat which works except on the below 30 degree days. Woody

Got it once on mine, for the same reason. It's only an emmissions thing -- doesn't warm up quick enough for the smog gear. It shouldn't affect the engine if you take it easy 'til it warms up, although it may run a little rich at first....

Do a little more research - while you get a slight power increase there are other effects of not operating at optimal temps. Get the intake air as cool as possible but keep the engine where it is.

I am all for more power but this is not a great mod for a daily driver.

IMO

I love the way you think! I have a diagnostic scanner, so I just clear the code right away. This is Florida, so the temps won't be down that long and I'll be at the track this Sunday...

my biggest issue is emissions in my county. with the retune i need to cycle the ecu for all the readings and i keep getting a cel. cant pass emissions with cel. so i went older school!! transfered my tags from my pickup which i sold last yr and the tags dont expire until april! temps will be up by then and no more cel. then i can get tags
