Default Car lost power then died...

Does anyone know what might be wrong? While driving it was as if the car was loosing power. If you tried to accelerate you would barely go. Then right in the middle of traffic trying to go up an on ramp to the highway it just died and wouldn't turn on. We had to sit their for over an hour before it finally started again. It seems to be running fine at the moment and the Chrysler dealer said they couldn't find a problem with it. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Is it an SRT or NA?

This sounds almost entirely like a CPS, especially if it's temperature related.

The loss of power could be related to the CPS or if the car is an SRT it could be the IC water pump. I'd replace the CPS first - the part shouldn't be too far off $100 and it's an easy job.

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...on-sensor.html has a very complete guide to the CPS if you read through the thread.

On the flip side, generally when the CPS fails the car throws a Check Engine code which the dealer should have been able to read. I'd take it to an auto parts store and ask to use their code scanner (at most places it's free) and see if any are present.

There's also the "mystery no-start" which is related to the Relay Control Module and doesn't throw a code, but this doesn't really sound like your issue - check this last if nothing else is working.

When it would start, did it crank over and not start?? If so, it is likely the Crank Position Sensor.

If it dosent crank at all, it is likely the RCM...

From the sound of it, it is probably the CPS as mentioned above.... easy fix for about $60?? (if you do the install).... The CPS dosent ALWAYS thow a code.... if it does it will be P0335...

The car was running and moving slowly in traffic when it just randomly died. Whenever i tried to turn it on, all the lights would go on and no cranking. Tried this over n over then finally an hour later it magically started. no cel no nothing. dealer cant pinpoint issue so they wont do anything.

hmmm pretty much sounds like my problem. Has the RCM been known to cause a loss of power before dieing like i was having? Do you guys think i should do the mod or try to get it replaced under warranty?

Well, the RCM is a "self fix" if you can use a soldering iron....the CPS is $40 and 10-30 minutes work with a "how to" for both on here....I would do both, to cover all bases...a dead cell in a battery can make the car do weird things as well...time for some maintenance my friend...

Not sure where you live, but if you are close to Greenville NC, I can do it for you while you wait.

You might consider fuel filter as well.
The fuel filter is part of a package with the fuel pump.

Here is more useful info. Download what you need.
