Quick question for anybody here who knows about HID's... when I was a member of an M3 forum, upgrading to projector headlamps for the E36 M3's was a big thing a lot of people did... the stock US headlamps were milky and nasty... along with getting the projector headlamps, a lot of people would upgrade to angel eye headlights and HID's... when getting the HID's, some would have trouble with the temperatures inside the headlamp getting too hot and melting some of the plastic headlamp housing... but then I remember that when you would get the European projector lamps, the housing was glass, not plastic, so it wasn't a problem...

Basically what I'm asking is that is there any potential troubles with getting the HID's? Could the housing for the headlamps be damaged? Or how do the ballasts and stuff work? Can I have electrical problems with the HID's or is pretty much safe?

I LOVE the look of your new lights, Benz, and I'm sure it's the first thing i'm going to get when I get my Crossfire. Thanks!

The temp of HID's are actually cooler and draw less amps than a typical bulb.

I think you are confusing HID with PIAA super whites which draw a lot more power and get hotter. Which the end result is melting head lamps.

Hey Benz, from looking at your pics, it seems relatively easy to install the HID's. What do you do? just plug em in and feed the wire through that dust cap? If so then count me in as the next one to have HID's.

yes.. hid kits are plug and play. You just have to find a place to mount the hid boxes.

For those in the UK. If you do this mod it is a MOT failure as you must have a head light washer system in place with zenon or HID.

Just a warning.

The lights look fantastic, but do they have the same illuminating power out onto the road :?: I need to see where I am going!!

Can you do this for the high beam or sidelights:?:
