Vibrating problem
I've only had my XFire a few days but it appears the rear drivers sub speaker is vibrating. But, it only does this when it is cold. When it is warn the vibration goes away. The problem is by the time I get to the dealer to get them to look at it, it is all working fine as it has warmed up. I took the cover and carpet up and checked the screws to ensure it was tightly fitted and it was, yet it continues to vibrate. Is this a duff speaker or is it actually something else that is vibrating?
It is really frustrating and forces me to drive with the radio off now as it is so annoying. But the dealer can't find a problem as when I get there it has stopped.

Dont push back your driver and passenger seat too close to the sub speaker. It happened to mine in P side and when I loosened up the distance between the sub and passenger seat...vibrations are gone
Thanks Cyril, that's a good idea  . That might explain it as when the dealer took a look they moved the seat forward. I re-adjusted it this morning and the noise was back.
I'll check later.

Ok, it is not the seat causing this. Everything worked ok last night. Got in it this morning and it is vibrating again, 30 mins later on the way to a meeting it stopped. After meeting got in, vibrating again, but only for about 5 mins this time. I'm sure it is the speaker and it doesn't like working when it is cold! Need to get the dealer to investigate.
Saldous, Had the same problem with mine.
Bottom line your speaker is shot. You will need a new one.
Turn up the base to max and you will see that it is there all the time.
Chrysler had to order a new speaker, it took two weeks to get in. Make sure they order the right one, as it is a sub woofer

Ok, back from the dealers. They are not sure what the problem is. It could either be the speaker or the amp causing the speaker to make an odd sound. As I have it booked in anyway for them to fit a new ash tray (as mine is stuck in and won't come out) they will investigate this at the same time. I'm in the US for a week from the 11th July so I will leave the car with the dealer for the week. That way if they need to order a new speaker / amp they have time to do that and fix it for when I get back.
