Default Thinking of making License Plate Lens Replacements

Hello, I was wondering if there is any interest out there as for me to make replacement license plate lens's. I will be able to produce them to sell for roughly $15-18 shipped to all US. The price may go way down depending on how many people are interested. They will be made of clear lexan or smoked lexan. They will fit as if oem. These should last a lot longer then our oem lens's. If there is enough people interested i will have them available to sell in a month or two.

Taking pre-orders now for those that want to. I am trying to get 6+ with one person paying so far. My PayPal is blwnstang02@yahoo.com. This is just to help me get started with up front costs. Hope to be sending the lenses out in 2-3 weeks.

Update:
Well i finally got something to work with this weekend for testfitment. I could not be any happier with how they turned out. The clears look good and the smoked material turned out great and has the smoke look still allowing light through. I just need my machinist to have a spot open this week for me to get the rest done. I should have about 10 sets of smoked lens and about 14 sets of clear to start with. I will be purchasing more material for this.

The smoke lens (view pics) puts off a really nice shade of light compared to oem. Its almost a blueish blackish tinted light i do not know how to explain it but definitely looks good.

Anybody that wants to order my paypal is blwnstang02@yahoo.com and the price is $18 shipped for the rest of my first run. After that they will be going up to $20. I will have the first round shipped as soon as they are off the cnc machine.

(i am not a photographer)
Sorry for the reflections they are hard to get pictures of.
Smoke on far right. The reflection is my kitchen chandilier.

Are they prismatic or flat?
You can buy OEM for about $15 each, mind you they crack too easily.

They will be flat. I was offered new ones for $38. I just cant justify spending $38 on something i know is going to fail a ways down the road.

I am thinking we are going to go with 1/8". If they are thin we will be going with 1/4". There are also a few sizes to test in between.

I have Xenon bulbs in my license plate bulb holders. Why would one wish to darken them?

O, that answer is easy : It's because I was thinking "license plate cover", not "license plate light"
At any rate, I do need a set of light covers, but CLEAR, please.

I am waiting on a quote back today from my freind. I am having him quote me for 50 sets. 10 sets will be smoke.

I think that once i get everything tied down, i will take pre-orders for people willing to next week.

Because, my dear Max, I have 3x SMD LEDs in each of the two housings and even with the SMDs facing upwards, they still throw so much light the ground around the back end of my car lights up on a dark night because of them LOL. I love the pure, white light the SMDs throw, but it is pretty intense and some dark lenses would be PERFECT. There will still be perfect visibility for my plate (and the smoked cover on it LOL) and I will still have the pure light I am looking for, just a little less...
