Default Which ECU chip is best?

I've seen lots of posts of people using the Upsolute ECU chip but I have also seen reference to the Power Chip Gold and one from Euro Rev...

SO...which is best?

Comments????

The only one I can talk about is the Upsolute. It's what I have. It is awesome! It's trouble free and very easy to have installed. I know AZ wanted to get his done and the problem is there's no one the the valley of the sun doing them. I don't remember where AZ said the closest place is to you.

I'm sure he will post here and let you know.

If you go to www.upsolute.com you can see if they have a distributer in your area.

I'll pots my update when I find out anything,

Thanks

I'm sure that he can sign on with them as the area Upsolute rep. if he's quailified. They need someone out there. That would be great!

Maybe the dealer/installer in California can give the AZ guys some training tips or something, we'll see what comes of it.

Thanks

Somewhere I remember somebody mentioning that chipping a 6 speed Crossfire was useless... that it only improved performance on the Automatics... and almost everybody I've seen who has had their Crossfire chipped by Upsolute has an Automatic... am I just seeing things... I'd assume the chip would increase performance in all the Crossfires... regardless of transmission... what do you think?

Certainly the brain in a car that monitors and does the engine management would also effect the shifting of an auotmatic and might be felt easier than in a 6 SPeed. However if the engine itself has modifications done to it, such as better air flow in and out by K&N's and better mufflers then it stands to reason that the brain should be reprogrammed to take full advantage of those changes.

I agree that most automatic owners might feel it easier in the seat of their pants but most automatics need a little help anyway in trying to keep up with a standard when it comes to all out performance.

Secondly, most Crossfires out there are automatics and only a few 6 Speeds exist which may account for never having seen a 6 Speed havng the ECU upgraded.

Just my 2 cents worth. I guess we'll see if I can find someone competent enough to do one on my car.

According to the unscientific poll here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...pic.php?t=1177 the numbers are ~ 2:1 auto:manual, if you'd consider that representative of "most".

I would suggest to anyone wanting the chip that you do the muffler/exhaust change first before chipping. This will give you a much better torquey experience than having it chipped then replace the muffler later on. With mine chipped first then the Magnaflow muffler, I can feel that the chip has loss its effect or it could be that chip + muffler together added more power making my XFIREX just plain fast and smooth without pulling not like before when I only have my chip.

MagnaFlow claims 12 HP increase plus Upsolute chip around 18-20 HP totalling around 30 HP increase. Is this what I'll expect to experience?

Hi Doc,
Welcome to our forum. I was wondering how you like the magnaflow mufflers? Is there a noticable difference in exhaust note? Just wondering if I want to give them a try when my new Roadster gets here. Love the yellow & vanilla cobo by the way.

Doc,

I'm working with someone right now that may be a distributor for us in Phoenix. I'll try and get back to you and let you know how it goes.

Thanks Lanny that would be great. Let's stay in touch. (480) 641-9361 anytime.

As for Cyril, I stand corrected with regards to the number of standards VS automatics. I just guessed!

For Indyxfire317, I just ordered theMagnaflow muffler today so it's not on it yet. I'll post my feelings after it's completed.

Thanks

The performance chip remap file will be the same regardless of which muffler you are using. The new muffler will increase the chips effects by letting the engine exhale better. It won't matter if you do the muffler before or after the chip. The performance increase will be the same.
