Default Warning light staying on

Hi guys some help please.
I have a warning light on the left side of the dash staying on.It is a yellow picture of a motor. It is no 24 in the book. It is called a malfucntion indercator light. It says to check your fuel cap to ensure that it is closed ect. And that make sure you have good quality fuel ect.
The light is staying on all the time. Tha car is running as per normal. Can any one give me some help where to go from here. Kind regards Roy

I believe, and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, that you can take your car to an Auto Zone or a business like that and they can read the warning light codes and clear it, and I believe they will do it at no cost to you...free

All good just fixed the problem. A simple fix , just disconnect the battery and reset the computor. Took for test drive no problems.

Good for you, you beat me to it. Most can be cleared this way, but at last resort, you need a code reader to clear the rest. Now, if it is ever an air bag light, you need the system the dealers use....
